from completed build Hoopa Unbound
super fast boot and load times for my games.
from completed build Console Killer-ish PC ft. HZMOD XQ69 V4.4 (Sentry2.0 Clone)
WD_Black SN850 1TB Gen 4x4 NVME SSD as boot drive, the best peforming gen 4 drive at the time of purchase (May 2021). Could have waited longer to buy them cheaper and at 2TB capacity.
from completed build The Grand Plan
I've paired this drive with the first M.2 slot on my motherboard for a hybrid boot/storage drive. It works perfectly and reads/writes at listed speeds. $200 is allot to pay for 1TB of M.2 nowadays, but personally for raw speed from a trusted company it's worth it.
from completed build Endgame Build (for now)
Very fast drive with excellent random read/write performance, good for games and your system drive. I docked it a star for poor thermal behavior, with thermal throttling being a common fact of life with this drive unless you have a beefy heatsink attached to it. Even with the thermal throttling problem though, it performs excellently. However, the SN850X that has replaced this model is now cheaper and better in every way, so look at that instead.
from completed build 4090 Gaming Rig
Great drive just runs a little slow than expected on the r/w tests.
from completed build M1's Build (Ryzen 9 5900X + O11D XL + 3090)
Loads Windows very fast.
from completed build My first build
Great SSD. Doesnt get too hot and is faster than my grandma falling down the stairs on christmas morning.
