Description
Built for teenage daughter 2023 Christmas. A few things to note: 1. Those screens are not 27", and they only have HDMI ports. 2. You need to buy an extra cable from Fractal for the USB C port to work.
Other than that, the build went very smooth. This was the first time I did an RGB accessories setup and at first I had too many plugged into one port. Now the front three fans are connected to the RGB controller on the case, and the radiator and rear case fan are controlled by RGB fusion software (connected to MB).
I normally go in and do OCing the hard way, but for this one, I went ahead and used Gigabytes app center to download all the new and nifty stuff. Seems to work well enough and it OC'd the CPU to 4.4ghz, which is about a 25% increase, not bad.
6 Month Update: No issues! Still running great.
Part Reviews
CPU
Great overclock potential, even with the auto overclock software from gigabyte, it did it to 4.4ghz.
CPU Cooler
Very quiet and a lot better looking in person than the stock photos show.
Motherboard
Perfect no nonsense board for a gamer. Gigabyte has really upped their game, they were already great, but now with BIOS UI updates and their support software (like the app center) they are even better.
Memory
Haven't gone wrong with G.Skill yet.
Storage
Fast, small, comes with a heat shield that wasn't shown in stock photos.
Video Card
Looks and feels solid. Visible heat sync bars on the side are growing on me. For the price at the time of purchase, I don't think you could find a better deal.
Case
Best case I've ever worked with EXCEPT that you have to buy an extra cable in order for the USB C port to work.
Power Supply
The heart of the machine, this is the only place I'll never go budget again.
Wireless Network Adapter
Works great without installing their unnecessary software.
Monitor
THESE ARE NOT 27"!!! I mistakenly bought them thinking they were. My fault for rushing to jump on a deal without paying attention. They do what monitors do though. I can't give them a 5 star because they only have HDMI connections.
