Thanks for the help! I guess I'll try picking it up and selling a few of the parts. I'll probably use the RAM to upgrade my current PC and possibly take the harddrive, and then sell the remaining parts.

That sounds kind of dumb. Nvidia should just sell the Founder's edition on their own and let the 3rd party brands focus on their own custom 1080s.

If you were talking about keyboards for comparison the corsair vengeance k95 is really nice. It's the same as the k70 but with i think 18 macro keys to the left(100% mechanical) .I'm not sure if they have red keys though. Cooler master has some red led keyboards but i dont really like their design.

Oh and i forgot about the TTEsports Meka G-1

the g700s has i think 8 programmable g keys. 3 on the left click button, 1 behind the scrollwheel and 4 above the thumb. Theres also a freespin button for the scrollwheel.

The corsair m95 would be a good comparison to the g700s but its not wireless.

(by the way i forgot to mention the g700s can be run in wireless and wired mode.)

the razer naga or naga hex also have alot of extra keys but i don't recommend razer because their products are known to die quickly.

I also recommend the k70(typing on it right now) It's a great keyboard but the wrist-rest gets food or crumbs caught in it very easily.

If you have any questions or concerns just ask me.

For a mouse you should get the logitech g700s, its on sale at ncix in canada. I got it last week for 75$ but they bumped the price up to 85$ now. the g600 is around the same price.

If you have a microcenter near you then you HAVE to get the i7 3770k. It has 4 cores with hyperthreading so it's great for 3d modelling. It's about $229 at microcenter if you pick it up in store. You save more than $100. It's a very high end CPU costing about the same as an i5 3570k.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "7970 or 670 for Video Editing and Gaming?"

I'm making a very similar build for the exact same use and I originaly had the 7970 in my build. I read on alot of forums that 2 gtx 670s in SLI had the same performance as a 690 so I decided to switch to a 670. I'm going to add a second 670 in SLI after newer and higher demanding games get released.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_titan_3_way_sli_review,17.html

Since SLI has better scaling than crossfire x, it's a better idea to add another 670 in the future than another 7970.

If this card is temporary and you're going to get a newer gpu when another one is released, just go with the 7970 because it has better value as a single card.

By the way, if you use Sony Vegas Pro alot, i recommend the 670 because it uses Nvidia PhysX which only geforce gtx cards support.

I also recommend that you get a different motherboard, that one only supports up to 1600mhz ram speed and you chose 1833mhz ram, asus makes good motherboards.

No this is not built yet, i'm going to build it this summer. I'm hoping the 3770k gets a discount when the haswell processors get released.

I don't need water cooling because I won't be overclocking.

thanks for the feedback.

You're going to need some optimizations.

Here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NAw8

The ram also comes in different colors(black, blue, gold, red), if you're interested, tell me if you want links.

  1. You don't need that much ram, its overkill. I'm only using 16 gb on a $2100 budget computer.

  2. That GPU is pretty old, i used a newer one.

  3. You don't need a 256gb SSD. I'm only using a 120gb one for my $2100 build. A 120gb SSD is perfect for a boot drive(install windows/mac os/linux on it). SSDs are for installing things that have slower load times such as video editing softwares or games.

I allready have a gaming mouse, mousepad and headset right now that i am satisfied with. I have no idea what thermal paste to get, do you have any suggestions?

I need a 3770K because I often make 3d animations and I heard the 3770K renders much faster than the 3570K.

I also have a few more questions.

  1. What monitor do you think is better? Right now in my build I chose the VX238H 23inch monitor. I noticed that in alot of your builds, you've included the VN247H-P. Their specs are exactly the same except the VN is 0.6 inches larger.

  2. What HD7970 would you recommend? the Gigabyte Windforce 7970 clocked at 1.1ghz, or the Sapphire vapor-x 7970?

  3. How much difference would there be between the 3570k and the 3770k? All over the internet, while O've been doing research, EVERYONE says the 3770k is the best value processer.

  4. When I did research, people also said that nvidia cards were better for 3d animation but I also do alot of gaming. Would you recommend going with an nvidia card or an amd card?

Thanks for the help. The build is for gaming and 3d animating. Il need the 3770k for faster rendering times. What RAM should I get, the case(CM HAF X) has a window on it and I also want the RAM to look good, the platinum RAM has a light on it too which will look impressive in the blue themed build. I know the case has red fans but i'm going to buy blue CM fans and replace them.

Not really, except all of them are parts that I highly considered using in my own personal build that I'm building this summer.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LfKh

Originally my budget was $1500 because I couldn't afford much. More than half of the build consist of components that were in my original $1500 build. Than I decided to bump up my budget a bit so the computer would last longer.
