Very impressive with the workaround, I'm glad you took the time to figure that monster of an issue out!
For my own sanity, I went with the Deepcool Gammaxx GT. Outside of minor mounting issues, the LEDs can be changed thru BIOS and doesn't have the "always on" issue with fantastic cooling results. Much simpler solution, but your solution (and your build in general) seems like it does wonders with amazing temps and that's all it matters. Great job!
Would like to get your temps when your build is complete. Really looking at getting that cpu cooler and would like to see how it does with the 8700k.
How have your temps been? Looking into that cooler for first build too but with the 8700k. Great build!
How have your temps been? Any overclocking? Love the riing plus fans and can't wait to use mine soon!
4.9 GHz on that air cooler? Yeah even with a cold basement that's still nuts. Congrats, great build and thanks for solidifying my decision lol!
How have your temps been with that cooler? Been town between this and the Quad Lumi, but I hear that the GAMMAXX works much better with RGB Fusion since it shows its fully compatible on Gigabyte's site.
How are your temps and overclocking been on the CPU? Torn with either that cooler or the Cryorig Quad Lumi.
How have your temps been with the Gammaxx? Any overclocking? Sucks to hear about ram clearance issues.
Damn close to a build I'm currently working on! Now I'm getting worried about working with Fusion and CAM (as well as Thermaltake's fan software unless the Riing Plus fans are compatible but there's nothing I found that shows they are). Does the quad lumi still have the "always on" issue when the PC is turned off?
Please put my breaking heart at ease and tell me this is not just used for RuneScape :'(
How have the temps been? Any overclocking?
If you like Logitech peripherals, you might want to look into the G560 speaker set. Illuminated lights that can change from in-game effects or keep it a static blue to fit the theme you got going on. They're low profile and from HardwareCanucks's review the sound is very powerful for its price tag.
How have your temps been on the CPU with that cooler? Wanting to do that exact combo in an ATX build soon. Any overclocking?
Pics with the new cooler? I want to get the Quad Lumi but am torn between Vengeance RGB and TridentZ chips. I was concerned about clearance or having to adjust the cooler fan.
Did you ever get those Deepcool fans to work with RGB Fusion? Wanting to run a Gigabyte Z370 build with LED fans and saw these being much cheaper and more reliable than the Riing fans in regards to its fan controller.
Outside of some cable management, great build! How was building in that case? Just got my P400S. Did yours come with an LED strip?
How have your temps been with that air cooler?
How was building in the case? I can't wait to get mine
How was working with that mobo? Been torn between getting the Ultra and the Gaming 5
Outside of the fact that you can upgrade to a 1440p 144Hz monitor and it will EASILY run games buttery smooth, this is a very nice build! +1
How have your temps been with that air cooler? Really want the quad lumi and seeing other builds have some good temps with decent overclocking.
How have your temps been with the Quad Lumi? Torn between that and the Cooler Master MA610P for air cooling. You can definitely light overclock with them but I don't think you can hit that high with an air cooler. I've been seeing 4.6 - 4.7GHz on air being a common hit (not including silicon lottery winnings), but best of luck and great build!
Is it just me or wouldn't it make more sense to flip that back fan so air pushes out? Outside of that, great build +1
I wish I can help, but I'm currently using it in HDMI (locked at 60Hz) until I get my 1440p build going. I know there are overclocking options in the screen menu when I was messing with the colors, not sure if you checked that out yet.
I'm just glad more people grabbed this monitor during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Seeing a ton more builds showcase this monitor and for roughly $350 at that time it was such a great buy.
EDIT: Also, great build +1
+1 Great build! I have the same monitor and it's amazing! How was working with that mobo? Torn between MSI, ASUS, or GIGABYTE for my build.
I heard about this cooler and now I'm torn between this and the Cryorig Quad Lumi. How was working with the software? Great to hear about your temps as well, and great build!
How have your temps been with the Quad Lumi? Absolutely love the cooler and am glad there are some nice 8700k builds here using air coolers. Any overclocking?
How was working with that mobo? Was considering that or throwing the extra $20 on the Gaming 5. Great build +1
How are your temps with that air cooler? Would like to go with air cooler with an 8700k that has some sort of aesthetic (so not a noctua lol) and am torn between this one and a few others.
Very impressive price total, that's where I'm looking at give or take $100 for a mid tower with a 1080. +1 for fitting that Noctua in there!
I'll make it worse for you. That's the cheapest I found at Best Buy and other nearby stores after months of searching for it brand new so at the time of writing this, it is the best deal. I tend to stay away from eBay searches but you can find postings of used ones under $350. I couldn't resist as it was also lower than an open box unit at $366.
However, for similar prices you can definitely find 32" 4K monitors like the LG 32UD59 that ItsJustTurtles mentioned, but as of writing you definitely won't be able to find one with over 100Hz and has g-sync support (if someone proves me wrong I'll be very surprised).
I just bought that dell s2716dg for $350 last night. Granted I'm currently using it as a 1080p screen until I built my 1440p PC but damn was it an upgrade to my LG. I bought it specifically for the reason that it pairs exceptionally well with a gtx 1080 for that low of a price for a 1440p monitor with gsync. Very excited to see its full potential soon.
Yes! Finally a build with the Quad Lumi! Is it true that the logo in the front of the heatsink does not turn off when you shut off the PC? This is a very minuscule issue and in no way is it that big of a deal but was something I've been wondering.
Are you doing any overclocking and what have your temps been?
Would like to ask this too, really hoping to throw in some overclock without having to resort to AIO coolers if I can avoid it.
This is a fantastic build and a build I've similarly wanted to make! Been conflicted with either 7700k or 8700k, a Cryorig Lumi or the H100i, but this is visually stunning and has answered some of my own questions about aesthetics and performance. Great job +1
