Hi,

I had a 4790k and a 980ti for my college build since FPGA hdl circuits and VLSI chip designs would take hours and up to days to compile on a laptop and made me struggle to meet deadlines making a powerful desktop a necessity

Thanks for the wishes!

I was able to fit the Trident Z with the 120mm gpu cooler on top but a 140mm cooler wouldn't really work since there isn't a lot of height clearance if that helps.

I placed the fans where they needed to be then put the screws in just enough that they would pop out behind the fan and aligned the radiator then screwed them in once they were aligned

The interconnect between the two quad-core CPU Complex blocks runs at the same speed as the actual memory clockspeed. Hence, I got 3200Mhz cl14 memory. I use Yocto which has great options for scaling with cores and caching unchanged parts of a binary.

I really like it. It has 4K/60 Hz HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2. It also has airplay, spotify and pandora streaming. It provides pretty good power to speakers as well. The UI & remote isn't the best though

Exactly! Speakers last a really long time and I feel they're a much better addition compared to flashy details. If people actually tried gaming with a nice sound system, it can literally make the floor shake when there's a dramatic scene in a game. It's feel like actual imax and there's just nothing compared to it. I had the R6 in ears and a set of RP-150M bookshelves before I got the Shure and B&W.

Yeah it's really disturbing. Microsoft being the trash they are, with the forced anniversary update included the ability for them to install 'featured games' on your computer without your consent.

I definitely want to put Linux on this machine. I'm looking buying a new ssd to dual boot right now.

Thanks! Yeah, I use it mostly for listening. I completely agree, I don't get why people here skim so much on audio. I love your build and those beautiful tower speakers, I've always been a huge Klipsch fan. They were what got me into high end audio.

Nice! Looks like an awesome build! Let me know if you need any help deciding on speakers! Also the 1080 ti should be coming out in early January so just something to consider!

Wow that'll be an amazing build! I love almost all the parts you listed. Just curious why you're thinking of going with all those different ssds? Have you looked into m.2 drives at all? Also don't forget about a nice set of speakers or headphones! A nice sound system can make all the difference! I can recommend setups if you do have a budget in mind!
