Comment reply on Forum Topic "My Sentimental 15 Year Old Laptop Was Stolen"

that is so sad, i had a laptop i used for 7 years, and it died on me, Not stolen, but still a very sad day, i had backups of important stuff, but still, when it RIP'ed, it really hurt, it was not a great laptop, under powered, not enough ram , keyboard did not even work (i like really keyboards anyway over laptop ones, so that was not a big deal.

The sad part is i still have the useless shell of it because i keep thinking one day it will turn back on or something.

The sad part is we computer people are a different bread, we treat our computers like pet or something, when they are gone we miss them (i know that dont go for everyone) so yeah, after a little bit of time, you will get over the sadness and move on to a new machine and the void in your life will be filled.

I never heard of VGA carrying sound, VGA is a rather old and simple format, if someone knows different, please let me know.

HDMI will carry sound, but i do not believe vga will

You can get a cheap HDMI to vga adapter that does have a sound cable, but i never used it, and i can not speak on how well it would work

I do try to give back one way or another, At least once a month i go help out at the soup kitchen, more if i am able, and plan on getting more involved in other services for the homeless, mainly because 4 years ago, i was right on the edge of being homeless, and i was one of the lucky ones. I have also helped other services that this project is working on.

At the start of last year, i had 20/20 vision, but it has went down hill lately, scared to go to the eye doctor, because i know i am walking out of there with glasses.

I know that is not what you meant by your sentence, but at the same time, i hope things work out well for you.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is it even worth building a pc?"

  • 1 point

This really comes down to use case, if you can do everything you can do with a tablet or iPhone efficiently. Then that might be your best bet.

I do things myself that requires a PC, and even know i can do the same thing with a tablet or phone, it would not be efficient. I game yeah, but mainly do other things that require a PC. The good part about tech in 2019 is you have options to go different routes depending on what you want to do, and what you like.

Much better now, thank you. I seem to be a completely different person this week, i am active, doing a lot of stuff, and last Friday and 9 days before, i could not even crawl out of bed, because the pain was so bad. but it was the worst pain i ever felt, for the longest period of time, to the point where i even went to the ER, and i barely was able to make it there.

You get karma by being part of the community. You could try helping out people or being nice. In the short of it, when someone hits the up arrow you get 1 karma, if they hit the down arrow, you get a karma point taken away.

As for the store.. Once you get your karma to a certain point, it will unlock for you.

I rarely ever see reCAPTCHA on PCPP , but i am sure it is there to keep robots from making accounts for reasons of spam or other reasons.

Here is the real deal, nobody but google really knows how it works. However there are people who think and honestly, i believe them. That it tracks your movement of your mouse, and if the movement feels "robotic" if you give you over options to figure out if you are human.

I bought a executive office chair Serta brand, with memory foam and a bunch of other cool features, and i will say this, it was one of the best investments i ever made for countless hours of sitting on my butt. If you would like more information, i will be happy to share it with you, if you wanted to go the same route as me. I have had my chair for about a year now, very little wear, on it, no sign of breakdown, and maybe a few places around the handles, the stitching is not like new anymore, but you would have to look to even notice. The chair got a 5 out of 5 review from me, and i have talked very highly of this chair in other threads as well.

Also as a side note, i recently bought a few Serta pillows, highly recommend...

Funny that you said almost no one uses a monitor, when most of my builds i have listed are headless units (no monitor) I see your point, but the good part about this time, is it allows people to have the option to not include what they dont want to include.

I been meaning to comment my thoughts on it. When i first seen it, i was kind of in shock, as another commenter put it, I instantly thought door stop. Than the fact that it did not look like anything else on the road today, made me think i like it. I do like the numbers, honestly even like the shape and the simple inside as well. But there is a big issue i see with the truck. I used to work out of trucks all the time, and i spent a lot of time loading and unloading out of the sides of trucks, and the access to the sides would get annoying, however i think i would maybe get used to it.

The staff here really does a very good job. Not only do they take care of issues quickly that need to be resolved, they also dont jump on the gun "most of the time" and hit that ban hammer.

Side note: i even got threatened with a ban once... I think it was a joke... i think. I would have to find that comment, but with 4010 comments, that would take more time than i am willing to put into it

Building a new PC would be better than buying, but it always comes down to how much you can put into it. But if you build one, you will feel better about your PC. Just because most people feel good when they put time and effort into a project and it is completed and works.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "List inclusion"

If it is part of your build, do it. Add your desk, your chairs and your snacks.
There is no strict rules on what you are suppose to have on your build list. To be honest, i love to see people be creative and go outside of the realm of what is normally "accepted" as a build. I like to not only see the builds, i like to see the area, office space or whatever of the build.

Having small bumps on your face is no joke, just go and find a dermatologist and find out what it is..

I have a past post here with pictures that will show you why you should get it checked, I am speaking from someone who had major surgery on his face because of a "small bump" I will post the link the topic here, but when you look at the pictures, i will tell you right now, they are not for the weak of heart...... I had a major hole cut out of my nose..

https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/305446-this-is-kind-of-a-personal-post-so-if-you-are-not-into-that-kind-of-thing-you-can-bypass-this-had-that-cancer-removed-from-my-nose

All that was from something that did not look like much more than a pimple

but WARNING IF YOU LOOK AT PICTURES... if you have a weak stomach.... you might not want to, i know i said it twice, but just want to make sure i get the point across...
