"was wondering if the 40$ more for the monitor was worth it"

if you have the GPU and CPU that can run more than 60mhz and play games that it matters in (FPS GAMES) then yes that 40$ to me is definitely worth it. in general gaming that is NOT FPS games..it only makes a bit of a difference.

also how is your experience on fps games, (cs, ow, bf1)

for the past year I run every game on max settings and have had no problems

current setup is 5960x on a 1080ti and everything is crazy nice

I would say yes but not for 8 hours of highly detailed graphic intense work. Or spreadsheets in excel could possibly cause tired eyes.

I have played 10-12 hours on this game in various types of games..heroes of the storm, bf4. dawn of war..evolve etc. Never have i gotten tired but i can imagine some people would.

I really really dislike thermal take so im biased. Not only have they copied of mfgs products but I used to town the thermal take 1.0

I have since moved to swiftech and have had no issues. The corsair h100i series is great too. I still prefer swiftech because im a fan boy haha. My temps are rock solid even w/ 4.7ghz over clock.

I feel I should clarify. The 2400mhz ram only had an effect on BF4 and only if you plan on running games at 120+fps. If you have 1866mhz ram you can get 60fps. It is only during those two instances that I found it useful.

You want 120+fps in BF4 and maybe other games get 2400mhz ram. In all other instances 1866mhz is sufficient for 60fps in current AAA titles.

going from 1866mhz ram to 2400mhz ram I went from 100fps to 120+ fps and in most games

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Do I need hyper threading?"

"how is the comment ignorant just stating that it works"

because if you are streaming mine craft, hearthstone or basically any low CPU overhead game hyperthreading pc is overkill.

"Ive streamed at 720p 60 Fps"

Streaming at 720p is also something you should have mentioned. that is now the bare minimum and popular streamers should take not that 1080p 60fps is what many audience members want in certain games. Which you didn't state until AFTER I said your comments were lacking information and ignorant.

"Obviously the i7 would do better as OBS can use hypertreading"

This is something you should have mentioned.

"i just don't understand why ppl say you need an i7 to stream bf4 at 720p 60fps when it works?"

you know what we don't have to understand it. I know when I watch players play bf4 I wanna watch them with 120fps on their screen and 1080p 60fps in my twitch stream. Its just how it goes. Does everyone watch bf4? no. does every game need that? no. that doesn't mean we should NOT tell this guy because WE have a bias.

"Most games still only use 2 cores and the ones that use more then 2 cores don't use all of the 4 cores. "

exactly why I said your comment was ignorant. If this guy is playing mine craft,tf2, hearthstone he doesn't need a beastly machine.

"OBS will use like 10% of your cpu usage so you still have plenty of cpu to run a game and stream. "

try streaming 1080p at 30fps with a FX processor or an i5 processor. (please link me your stream and prove me wrong)

TL;DR You should'nt give people one sentence answers to information that will cost them 200-500 bucks.

email chain I had with a rep and he answered my questions in 10 minutes.

Liquid Cooling Advice Conversation between BramSLI1 and me Batpimp Yesterday at 1:15 pm Hey there,

I noticed you were on the forums and active so I thought I would reach out for some advice.

I currently have:

Asus Sabretooth 990fx Rev 1

AMD FX8150 OC'ed to 4.4ghz

Gskill DDR3 2400mhz

EVGA 850w G2

Samsung 850 EVO 500gig

R9 290 Powercolor PCS+ (two of them)

Swiftech 240x Liquid Cooling Setup

Phanteks Enthoo Luxe

Everything is working great but now im considering cooling the GPUs. As I understand it the Swiftech 240x has a pump that would technically enable me to pump all 3 components, CPUx1 GPUx2 but there would not be enough dissipation of heat.

I was wondering if you could give me advice at what I could do.

I have recently installed two R9 290s in my rig. They work fine but they are much louder than I anticipated. The heat levels I am told are normal. With ambient temps of 71F I was running the cards at

GPU#1 @ 55C/138F GPU#2 @ 68C/ 154F

I wanted to see what you think my options are.

BramSLI1 Yesterday at 1:26 pm First off, I need to let you know that I don't normally answer these kinds of questions. The reason for this is that my main responsibility is in helping customers with issues or questions concerning the operation or performance of our products. If I took the time to answer all of the questions that I receive concerning configurations then I wouldn't have time to do my actual job.

What I can tell you though is that you will definitely need an additional radiator that is at least a triple 120mm fan size for the added heat load from those cards. Anything less than that and you're going to run into overheating issues that will cause the cards to throttle under load.

Also, those cards would have to be the ones that aren't the New Revision in order to use our Komodo water blocks. The New Revision cards have a PCB design that isn't compatible with our Komodo water blocks.

I hope this helps to answer your questions.

Regards, BramSLI1

bryan@swiftech.com Batpimp Yesterday at 1:30 pm

Thanks for answering what you could.

I am new to liquid cooling so what do you mean by, "New Revision."?BramSLI1 Yesterday at 1:35 pm What I mean by New Revision is that the Power Color video card you have comes in two models. They have one that has nothing after the model number and the other says New Revision after the model number. If your cards are the New Revision then you'll need to use a universal type of water block and hope that it fits. I hope this answers your question.

Regards, BramSLI1

Batpimp Yesterday at 1:45 pm Thanks again,

I will have to look into it.

Are you sure that you are doing everything that is within reason to get this resolved. he is very active. Here is posts of him responding to others.

18 hours, 53 minutes ago Forum: Water Cooling Thread: Swiftech H220/H320/H220X/H240X/H140X and CM Glacer 240L/360L Owners' Club That is strange, but I just don't see how the grease that's used to lubricate the bearings in these fans could leak out like that. Not in the kind of pattern that's present on that fan. We've also never seen anything like that before with these fans.

20 hours, 43 minutes ago Forum: Water Cooling Thread: Swiftech H220/H320/H220X/H240X/H140X and CM Glacer 240L/360L Owners' Club I don't see how that is possible with these fans. What we use is a grease and not an oil of the kind that appears to have either spilled on or spilled out of the fan. These are sealed at both sides under the fan hub and therefore you'd have to unseal them to have the grease seep out. Are you sure you didn't have something above the fans that could have spilled on them?

It goes on and on here you can look for yourself. http://www.overclock.net/forums/posts/by_user/id/169133

What I am thinking is you are that guy who said that you received damaged parts but you wont take the pictures, communicate effectively and are expecting a 100% money back guarantee yet you wont do 10 second of effort to help them process this refund/return correctly.

after read your post for a while can I ask a dumb just in case question.

you did turn on the 144mhz option right? cause its not on by default. V-Sync off and on too.

I am really surprised you are saying you are not seeing much of a difference. Even with 5ms 60hz monitor or lower I would've noticed the difference.
