it depends on what you are doing as to if you need 8GB or 16GB, the gold standard is 16GB but for just gaming odds are 8GB would not be your bottle neck since you are not using the GPU part of the APU. As far as the cable management certainly wait until you are done tinkering before you do it, I always found it extremely annoying having really tight cables and undo something as I could not get the cable loose enough to work with :).

I would have cut the RGB until you are satisfied with the core build. It is easier to add that stuff later than it is to add core components. I would have gone with an R5-2600 or waited for Ryzen 3 (if possible), maybe a better GPU but the 570 should be plenty. I would have also certainly gone with 16GB of RAM, and a bigger SSD cutting one of the HDD's if needed. Odds are cutting the RGB would have more than paid for the upgrades, also most AIO's are not any more effective than a decent air cooler and cost a lot more so save cost here to by going with an air cooler. One thing I have noticed is RGB seems to always get old.
As things are now I would recommend working on the cables a bit, they won't effect air flow any but if you are trying to show it off may as well make it pretty. Your first upgrade I would recommend it being RAM followed by CPU.
Not much, anything that would be taller then the PSU would be really close. You wont come close to fitting a 212evo but may be able to squeeze a Hyper T4 in there though I have not tried.
As far as AIO's I would not recommend trying, the only 120mm mount is in the front of the case and its a bit far for most AIO's pipes to reach comfortably.
It does fine temp wise with the stock cooler, a 120mm for intake and a 80mm for exhaust which is all the fans this case supports. There is a spot for a fan on the side panel but it would interfere with the GPU, and who puts fans on the side panel anyway :).

I have always loved microcenters open box stuff, if you cannot get it fixed just take it back (most of the time) lol. They also come with the full manufacturer warranty.

NZXT pure case ****, good lookin build.
HP ate them some years back, kind a when the way of gateway. You still see Compaq on some HP boot screens. Got to love these old cases getting some life breathed in to them.
An APU maybe but there should not be much of a difference in another CPU. The TDP on the intel mainstream line is 65w as well as most of the APU's, so I don't see a large thermal difference. I would not recommend overclocking in this case due to temps.
Really good looking build, and considering the size of that case my hats off to you. I would have tried to go with any APU or an i3/i5 (depending on the use case) but that is purely my opinion and takes nothing away from the really good looking build you have.
Its that case, and in CAD from the looks of things. Super sexy case, but its not cheap.
Yes, it plays fornite quite well. I have not played the game much as it’s not my cup of tea but I don’t recall there being any issues.

For its age and tier that card has help up very well, I got it on sale years ago for $100 and have not regretted it at all.
The only real reason I would consider an APU is my continuing war on cables, some GPU that does not need external power is what I am really wanting. Everything is behind the rear panel which was a really tight squeeze, but I made it work. Thinking about it I should have opened the HDD "rack" so people could see the near total lack of cables visible in the case lol.
It has worked like a champ this entire time. Documentation is not the best but eh, you get what you pay for I suppose.

I am working on a build that will be very close to this one aside of I am using a M.2 drive and plan on getting a 1050 appose to the 1050Ti. I currently have a 1600 in the PC that is for another build, I will be using a 1200x in the end. Looks good mate, how well does it preform?

That is much the same luck I have had. I seem to have the most luck selling my old gaming PC's a year or two after I build them to fund the rebuild you know we all do way too much. Sorry to hear about the rotten luck mate.

I am actually working on a budget i7 build right now, I have sourced everything less the CPU and tower so far. I got a z97 mobo for $40 on ebay (seller listed it without the CPU socket shield so no one wanted to bid on it, I got it and the mobo works fine), 16GB of ram I got before RAM prices shot up, a R7-370 2GB I got for $70 and a EVGA 500w PSU I got for $40. I am looking at getting a i7-4770k in the next month or so to finish off the build. Assuming I pay $150 (which is my target) for the CPU I will be around $400 in for an i7 build with GPU. There is hope for "high" end builds on a budget.

Triggered much? Any decent (not good, just decent) PSU would be 30-50% of this total build cost, simply not worth it. Also I think you missed the point totally, where yes this PSU is used it is not a consumer grade PSU it was pulled from a workstation so your reference to AM Generals vesicles is irrelevant here.
While you keep harping on not knowing how abused the PSU is with it being used you may want to pay attention to the entire system being used, as far as we know that GPU was used for mining and is totally shot. The CPU is 9 years old and has seen its heyday long pass and could have a failing memory controller among any number of other issues.
Pick your fights my friend, I would say that a $150 used build thats entire purpose is to be a cheap as possible is not a good fight to pick.
These are some of my favorite builds, I live these budget pieced together things as they are far more creative then the cookie cutter unlocked i7 on a z mobo with a GTX 1080 builds we see all too much on this site. Plus with this being a LGA775 build with such an old GPU you have a space heater for the cold months :D.
Delta makes a lot of server grade and workstation PSU's, to be honest I would bet that PSU is the most trust worthy part in the system. Delta services many PC makers like Dell and HP in the workstation market, it should be a very good PSU so long as you are not trying to do anything crazy. Even if it was a junk PSU, a build of this price you are not trying to protect the parts so there is no need for anything reputable.
By going with a 2.5 SSD he would have saved just shy of $40, and for that price you are getting a 320-500GB HDD which is hardly a big drive. Considering it already had a 200GB HDD I don't see the point of getting a decent 320GB or a low end 500GB over his choice of a NVMe drive.
Were you ever able to sell the build? I have never had any luck building to sell, everyone wants a deal and its hard to make money like that.
I would have gone with a PCI based wifi card myself, makes the build look cleaner and most people don't understand the magic of PCI based expandability like they do USB addons.
I am assuming PCPP is giving you a warning about how high the cooler is, I don't see any stock cooler giving an issue with this case. I have a hyper T4 in mine without issue, though I could not put a 3.5in HDD comfortably in the HDD bays with that cooler.
Budget and upgrade ability, it may be weaker than the pentium however the AM4 platform tends to have a better cost per performance than LGA1151.
Normally I would suggest the R5-1600 for the AM4 platform, however you are not going to build a PC with the specs he needs and that CPU for $600.
I would be about another $40ish to go to 8GB (I dont think they make 2GB DDR4 DIMMs). The only place you can really cut the cost would be dropping the GPU down to a 1050Ti which may be a good idea with out well it normally preforms.
A $500 budget is a little tight to have a GTX1060 and OS on, as that is 3/5ths of your budget. Storage, CPU, MoBo, RAM, PSU and case for $200 is not going to be easy going new. Considering people with 1080's have issues getting good frames out of PUBG, I wish you luck :).
I had to limit you a budget CPU, GTX1060 3GB, a HDD and 4GB of RAM but its a running system with a good upgrade path.

AMD - I picked a B350 motherboard so you can overclock, you can save about $15 by dropping to the base A320 motherboards.
The articles URL is very misleading, it says every intel chip since 2008 is vulnerable however the article says the proof of concept has only been proven on Skylake and newer (2016+) chips. Also no mention of AMD, so not exactly unstoppable, and you can disable unused USB ports in BIOS. Still an interesting read.
I suppose the moral of this story is to use common sense. Dont let people you dont know use your PC, keep your PC where strangers cannot access it, unplug anything you did not plug in to your PC yourself and finally only use USB devices you trust (for example some USB mice/keyboards that can inject code).
Win7 is not currently supported on new sockets by Microsoft, however many of the motherboard makers still make Win7 drivers for their products. You can image a PC with Win7 fine, however dont expect anything to work when Windows finishes due to windows not having the drivers it needs. No USB, no Network, ext, however you can load the drivers during the OS install process or add them to a harddrive and slave that drive to allow Win7 access to the drivers to install them. Your mileage will very massively and all I would expect to work off the bat is SATA and the PS2 ports.
Just to shed some light on you question, the CPU (i3/i5/ext) is of little consequence, you are looking for supported chipsets. The last officially supported chipset for Win7 from intel is LGA1151 (skylake only, kabylake and coffeelake are not supported on Win7), and with AMD its AM3+ and FM2+ (AM4 is not supported by Win7)
I would honestly say its time to suck it up and go to Win10 or Linux, Win7 is dead.
To be honest it may be time to rebuild, that platform is really just too old to really upgrade. I would say pick up a R3 or current Pentium/i3 and 4GB of DDR4 with some cheap motherboard and move the rest of your components forward.
I run a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU with 2133 RAM OCed to 2600. Considering most chipsets are fully unlocked the RAM really does not matter much as you can simply OC it. However with pricing being the way it is I would target a quality 2400 kit and you should be fine. Good luck mate.
On a side note my CPU ran fine with the 2133 RAM at stock speeds before OCing it, you will only see small performance gains in the grand scene of things with faster RAM.
I am not sure what to do about the miners, however boycotting crypto mining currencies could help make them less profitable to mine. As far as the cell phones go we have our selves to blame, think of how many people you know who get a new phone every year; that is what is driving the cell phone market. Thankfully I managed to find a GTX1060 6GB at MSRP a few weeks ago, felt strange paying MSRP for it but I must digress :).
The cost of flash storage has driven these budget builds up, a year (or so) ago you could have built this for under $350. Oh well... It is a really good looking build, I really like these no nonsense builds.

How much did the water loop cost? Did you have a chance to get temps before giving it back to your friend?
I find it funny the monitor is the most expensive thing on this parts list, but still a good build. I would bet your issues with FPS are your GPU, as far as streaming you really need an i7 to pull that off. Streaming needs more than 4 cores on most games unless you go down to low settings. +1 for sure.

The G4560 was not out at the time of this build, it came out 1st qtr 2017 and this build was 4th qtr 2016. A monthish later and I would agree with you 100%
To be honest I would say the extra $50 would be better spent on a better CPU. The Athlon was fine for its time, but in December of 2016 I would have spent the $120ish on an i3, a LGA1151 mobo could be found for $50 at that time.

Nice budget build, in most cases CPU's are far faster than most games need. So long as you are not running a CPU dependent game I doubt you will notice a different between this CPU and a "current" one with your monitors that can only display 60 FPS anyway. I have always found the max FPS war silly as the vast majority of people can only render 60 FPS on their monitors anyway.
My advise with your next build (considering your addiction comment) get a low end CPU and high end motherboard. This will allow you to upgrade further going forward so you dont have to keep rebuilding the PC to get your "build" fix, just upgrade the CPU.
