The stock cooler fit no problem. I upgraded to aio liquid cooler and there was a lot more room. It was easier to install also. My temperatures are much better. It is totally worth it and you will be able to fit your ram no problem too.
As far as the ram tab goes, i cant remember having any issues with it. I would have to look at it again to see how many tabs it had. Speaking of tabs though, the tab for the video card broke off. I have a vertical mount so it isn't a big deal but I did think that was poorly designed.
Good luck with your board.
With the liquid cooler my temps have gone down to as low as 26 idle. That's down from about 38. I decided not to overclock this processor (for the time being) because its doing just fine as is. The stock cooler is not good. I was reluctant to install a liquid cooler at first because I thought it would be difficult. It was much easier than installing the stock cooler.
Nice build. I have the same case. My CPU is the Ryzen 5 2600 and it ran hot with the stock cooler, I couldn't overclock it at all. I have since added an aio liquid cooler. Temps are nice and low now, though I still haven't overclocked because the built in boost technology works so good. Its running everything I throw at it at stock settings. I think I would have to go with Nvidia for the GPU upgrade. But with a freesync monitor the Navi might be the better choice.
Thanks! This case comes with a 200 mm fan but has room for two 80 mm fans in the rear. The motherboard only has two fan headers. 1 system fan and 1 cpu. A simple splitter or hub would allow for more fans but space is limited. My biggest suggestion is to go with a fully modular or semi modular power supply. I did not and I have a lot of extra cables tucked away.
Thanks. I appreciate the advice.
One of the best looking builds I have seen. Please update the pictures when you paint the GPU. Also, any plans to upgrade the HDD? 500 GB may start to run out soon if you play alot of games and do alot of video editing.
Yes!!! I had the same problem and only figured it out because of this post.
Thanks for the info. Got any suggestions for aio liquid coolers?
Yeah no worries, I will be upgrading the processor soon. I have read a lot of reviews and watched some videos on how the Ryzen 3 bottlenecks.
