I wouldn't go so far as blatantly "transphobic"... maybe "not fully informed" would be better?

Do you even know what the word offensive means?

Meh... I'd reword that to be honest with you. That has the potential of creating animosity instead of a discussion, which I assume is the opposite of what you want. Tragik's opinion differs from yours and mine, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be discussion. (To his credit, he does admit to being "no authority on this subject" and appears to be relatively open.)

Nah.

He/him/his = If identifying as male
She/her/hers = If identifying as female
They/them/theirs = Gender neutral pronoun, or if identifying as nonbinary, genderfluid, etc.

The point is, regardless, pronoun choice is up to them.

And yes, "they" is grammatically correct :P

Well.. no... I understand the point you were trying to make (older cars are easier to modify because they lack the electronics and complexity of more modern cars), but using an F40 and a Ford GT is not a good way of conveying that. Neither were designed with the possibility of being modified. A WRX STi, on the other hand, while not intentionally designed to be modified straight out of the factory, has potential to be modified, is accessible to lots of people due to its relatively inexpensive price, and has a large modding community behind it.

You are not being attacked. I don't know how else to tell you this. Stop thinking everyone is out to get you.

You don't understand because you (appear to, at least) ignore most of the people who commented on this thread. It's natural because people (me included) are saying things you don't necessarily like, but it's time to get your head out of the sand. We're trying to help you, but it only works if you accept it.

People have the ability to criticize or question just as you have the ability to create a parts list in the first place. If someone questions your choice/choices in a parts list and you can explain why you did so, who cares? If you can't explain, that means you didn't really think that choice through, and you can learn from it so you don't do the same thing again. This really isn't that hard.

All I want to do is help people build computers

Great! So take advice from others and continue to learn. Nobody makes perfect parts lists when they start out.

I'm gonna try to help you out here

Your lists are not that great right now. But, that's ok. Learn from your mistakes. You'll improve as you go.

In other words, it's ok to make an only so-so parts list and then learn from the criticism to make your next list better, but it's not ok to make a so-so list and claim you're the best and that everyone else is just a hater.

It's ok to be wrong. If you say something wrong and are corrected, that's not being a hater. That's someone trying to help you out.

It's also ok to be direct. But, it's not ok to sound like a jerk. For example, this:

“well it's a wrong opinion.”

makes you sound like a jerk. Instead, you could go with something like "I disagree lol, but out of curiosity, why do you think that?". Not trying to put words in your mouth, but saying, as Zeromus said, you can convey the same message in a less abrasive way.

airflow is not as important as people on here make it out to be

I mean, I guess it depends on your definition of 'important'. For example, it's generally better to run with a neutral or positive pressure system over a negatively pressured one so dust isn't sucked through unfiltered crevices / openings.

Also having no fans... isn't great...

It will run fine, leave the side panel off if you’re that paranoid.

Yes, it will, but that eliminates the whole purpose of having dust filters in the first place.

I may not know the ins & outs of a computer but no one is a better pc part picker than me

Time for me to be direct. Stop. This is what's getting you downvoted.

I’ve put together a cheaper, faster builds and still got down voted just because it’s from me.

I highly doubt that. Nobody knows who you are, so where's the incentive?

I just want the respect I know my builds deserve.

Respect is earned, not given.

The only reason I get down voted is because of haters, period.

So what are they hating on you for?

If you've made a parts list that's faster and cheaper than the "competition" (It's not, but you know what I mean), people would be glad that you created such a good list. This is generally a 'pure' and 'clean' community, so I'd expect people would congratulate sooner than downvote.

One thing about the Malm. It's a good desk, I have one myself, but it is not for VESA mounted multi monitor setups. If you have no plans for multi monitor setups however, the Malm is a good choice. Might be a bit tall for some people (meaning your elbows aren't bent 90 degrees when sitting at an 'average' height) but it's a good desk overall.

Yeah that's fair, like I said if your total (PC + peripherals) is locked to $500 you can get away with cutting the GPU out for now. But, that said, don't expect great performance. The Vega 8 graphics are pretty good for onboard, but it's nowhere near a decent discrete GPU.

I'm stuck on the storage tho, i plan on moving family photo albums, big family lots of pictures.

Is this gonna be moving huge albums pretty often? Or more like a one and done type of thing?

RAM: Faster speed, which is still important with Ryzen CPUs. The tradeoff is that it's a 1x8 kit.

Storage: Replaced with a traditional SSD and HDD combo. More storage for the same price, and you won't see the benefits of an NVMe SSD unless you transfer large files often. Assuming you don't, you'll be fine with an MX500 and a 2 TB P300 (or other HDD of similar quality, of course)

GPU: Added one.

Case: Changed it to one from Thermaltake. It's not the best case, but it's relatively inexpensive. Beware that there probably are some drawbacks just to get tempered glass, so I would research and see if that's worth it to you. Of course, you can save a few dollars by dropping back to the Tesseract you had earlier.

PSU: Decent unit from Corsair, and semi-modular. It'll handle this system nicely.

Peripherals: Basically upgraded them from cheap to inexpensive. Monitor is 1080p and comes with HDMI input, as well as height adjustment. Keyboard is mechanical with Cherry MX Reds. Mouse is of much better quality. If you need to save more, you could go with a membrane keyboard and slightly less expensive mouse.

PC itself: $526
Peripherals: $159

But ya know what? They ain't got shiat on Portland or Seattle/Tacoma drivers.

WoW is quite a "intensive" game. If you set all options at ultra, with all other options active (rendering scale, anti-aliasing,etc), on a 2700x you wont achieve more than 60-70 FPS in open world. If you go on a full raid, you will have 25-35 FPS, wich really affects your gameplay quality and rotation. All of this on a 4k resolution and 144Hz. WoW is a very CPU demanding game, thatswhy intel CPU's excel in WoW gaming and majorty of pro WoW players build intel based systems. The reason why 2700x doesnt excel in WoW is simple: his single core speed with way more less than intel's CPU. And in WoW the speed matters a lot.

It's possible you're correct. I don't play the game myself so I have no way of verifying this, but that wasn't the point. The point was it's generally regarded as a game that's easy to play and not particularly taxing. It's not really an achievement to get smooth frame rates.

on a 2700x you wont achieve more than 60-70 FPS in open world. If you go on a full raid, you will have 25-35 FPS, wich really affects your gameplay quality and rotation.

Would you mind linking these results, just for sake of my curiosity?

the guy posted the build as GAMING build, not for rendering and multi-core purpose.

Fair enough, but we don't know what games they play. It's possible they're into very CPU-heavy games like Cities: Skylines. So as a general rule, yes, but there are exceptions.

But if we both look back at comments, the person who started with "offense" was JCMsergox. He coulded answer nicely, without adding the "buffoon" part.

He never called you a buffoon.

So if someone makes me a buffoon is ok, but if i reply back and i make him a "AMD lover" that is offensive?

Yep. Putting it in this context ("JCMsergox : Its clearly you are a AMD lover. Your species is hard to fight. You are like thoose medievals religious fanatics: in your opinions, AMD is the God and everything else is "filthy" (9900k).") comes off as rude and insulting, as if he is spreading false information about Intel processors or is otherwise heavily biased against them.

My logic is simple: if you have plenty of money, do the best system possible. First focus on best performance possible, then on "flashy pleasures".

Fair enough; those are your priorities. Other people have theirs in a different order. Said person likes to focus on a pretty system vs. a total powerhouse. While you don't agree, and I might not necessarily agree with that, what gives? It's their money, and it's not an obviously poor or detrimental choice. Therefore, I see no reason to stop them or argue with them.

Again, i dont find using the word "mocked" as offensive or personal atack.

It kinda is. You're essentially saying that their opinions/ideas are worth less than yours. So while you don't feel that way, others might.

If you coulded afford to buy 1000£ accesories, then you coulded afford to add 150£ more to take a better CPU. That was my intrigue and wonder.

That's a perfectly fair question. You could ask them why they chose to spend their money in such a way.

This is not the place i like to belong, where i cant say what i feel about your build and that i am forced to choose "ultra-carefully" my words.

You don't have to tiptoe over a dictionary just to post here. It's just that generally, people should be considerate to each other. That's all the staff ask for, as far as I can tell. They're not being unreasonable.

I will stop answering to this post from now,so dont bother reply.

(Too late lol) May I ask why? There's no reason to ditch this thread at the moment.

TL:DR Anyway, I think what we're all trying to say is, be respectful and considerate. That's it. It's ok to disagree or question; just do so respectfully.

How old and what make/model is your truck?

Could be a fuel or air filter (however you said the fuel filter was replaced).

Could be spark plugs / ignition coils.

I’m thinking it could maybe be the battery? The things old and in need of changing as the acid is starting to leak a bit, could that have any relation?

It's possible, as the ECU and other electronic components draw power from the battery. If the connection is bad (e.g. acid on the terminals) or there's a problem within the battery, things might not be getting the power they need. You should have it replaced anyway though, if it's leaking acid.

Could also be a sensor too.

(Also paging Tiny_Voices)

JCMsergox : Its clearly you are a AMD lover. Your species is hard to fight. You are like thoose medievals religious fanatics: in your opinions, AMD is the God and everything else is "filthy" (9900k).

I suspect this might have been why your comment was deleted. AMD is no longer 'crap' in the way it was a few years ago. They now make CPUs that will hang with or will better many Intel chips.

who is the buffoon....you or me?

See above. I suspect this might have been why your original comment got deleted

One example is World of Warcraft. Look the benchmarks and you will see how 9900k demolishes 2700x, by having with 50+ more FPS.

  1. The 9900k costs significantly more
  2. WOW isn't known to be an... intensive... game. I highly doubt all cores / threads were being utilized on either CPU. (Which is where modern AMD CPUs shine: Video editing, streaming, and other core-intensive workloads)
  3. 50 extra FPS won't really matter with a 60hz monitor outside of bragging rights. And, depending on the FPS each CPU gets, might not even matter on a 144hz panel either.
