Ya I’m aware of the spec differences, but there are still some reviews that warn about bad temps even with the MX250. I think the difference is between the Prestige and Modern. They look very similar but I believe only the prestige does not have the dual fans according to MSI’s website
Ah so he understands. In that case, it'll be a comforting night light
My condolences for your roommate when that PC kicks on for an update and blasts RGB (or just green) into their eyes. Jk, very nice setup
I'm trying to be satisfied with my H500, but each of these Inwin A1 builds convinces me otherwise.
It seems like I’ve seen a whole lot of SFF builds lately. Is that the new thing or is it just because I’m now interested in doing that? Either way, great build! Love the look of this case.
More like how much did that Rockstar OC them!
This was mainly just for show. In the description he says the parts were from testing hardware and worked with some spare water blocks
Good recommendation! I actually just became interested in it once I came to the reality of my situation. I’m currently obsessed with Rainbow Six: Siege and wanted something to run that, but was candid on how little that ever happened (plus it’s hard to find a decent setup to play on.) My only problem is how similar in cost it is to a used Blade 15 with a 1060. I’ve begun looking at other laptops with the MX150, but dang it if those Razers don’t look and feel amazing.
Wow, what an awesome parent. Based on your post, this was much more than a parent saying "meet my expectations and I'll give you something." You seem to be teaching him really good values of hard work and being kind and helpful to others. While the rewards aren't always this amazing, I hope this machine is a reminder of your wise words and what that gift was given for.
Edit: Also it's very smart to teach him about hardware monitoring. When I build PCs for people I try to encourage this as I know many of my fellow high-schoolers are used to plugging in their console and being able to essentially neglect the system once it's set up. I think it's another good lesson you're teaching him of understanding the value of a possession and being responsible in its care.
I really looked into getting a Pixel 2 or 3A, but went with a battery replacement from iFixit. I was content with my current phone and the battery was also the cheapest option. Plus the inescapable liking for iMessage lol.
Yup! Replaced it a few days ago and love to have my old phone performance back.
Was the battery replaced by Apple or did you do it yourself with a 3rd party battery? I’m pretty good at reducing my use when I know I’ll need my phone without charging it, but it will drop 10% in a matter of minutes with only the occasional text, which is something I can’t rely on. Thanks for the info!
Not entirely sure, I think something like an iPhone 7 or 8, maybe $250-$300 for the X. But I’m really leaning toward a battery replacement as I really like my 6s more than these.
Looking on Amazon and the iFixit kit is $30, so I may look into that. I've even seen others with increased capacities which is very enticing, but need to do research on reliability and whatnot. Still a little unsure about doing it myself but will definitely look into it.
How much is the tool kit in addition? I don’t mind diy repairs, but I know how particular Apple is on certified parts, so in the long run $50 may be worth the piece of mind knowing there will be no future problems with Apple being so anti-self repair.
Thanks for the input. The only major feature I’ve appreciated from the most recent update is for dark mode on the device. Other than that, most software updates don’t bring anything in particularly excited about or in need of and my use on it is very basic. Thanks again!
Really like the flexibility of the lighting! I may try to do a neutral look so that the color scheme can be determined by lights.
Really clean build!
Even with a backplate on the GPU that build is super clean. Very Nice!
Love the setup! I'm a huge fan of the clean black and white builds, yours is a lot like mine with more emphasis on the black. What keyboard/mouse mat is that? It looks super clean with the white border lighting.
Gotcha, thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion!
So much ignorance lol (not you, talking about original comment)
Absolutely gorgeous build!
Very clean setup! Love it! +1
Gosh I love clean black and white builds and this is definitely one of my favorites. I also love how full the system is inside, it's like step further than normal simple builds. +1!
Some people just don’t read...
Yes if you go to completed builds and then click on the title of my latest build (Earendil v1) it will bring up the actual photos of the build.
I love seeing builds with black and white color schemes. Those LED strips are nice, considering most other RGB ones have a blue tint to the "white" preset. I got a CableMod RGBW strip with dedicated whites specifically to combat this.
Ah I see. Thanks!
I am loving this desk cable management! What did you do to secure the power bricks to the bottom of the desk? I've started to realize external cable management is as important as internal lol
Yup! I actually made a separate post with with link but I’ll update it here too
Just an update, found a random post on Gskill forums that fixed it :D
Love to see fans of Fallout previous to FO4, some of my all-time favorites!
Ya that second scenario is definitely more fitting for me, guess I should’ve included that in my original post. I’m probably overthinking this as my current chair is just a random one we’ve had laying around, so most anything is an improvement to this lol. Thanks for the help!
Gotcha. How much would I be looking to spend for a decent one?
Hmm ok. I may just disconnect the LED's for just a plain white bar (I've got a black and white build anyway) or maybe just keep fiddling around with it.
Agreed, they make some good looking stuff. Clean looking build!
I've got a 1060 and painted it like that except with white instead of gray.
Yes. It was first at 2133 and then enabled XMP. Rebooted, went into bios, XMP was off and not able to be activated and ram was at 2400.
Agreed. It’s one thing to “stay true to yourself,” but then he gets aggressive towards other people’s own preferences just because it’s a part of the majority. Kind of a double standard...
It's not featured, the homepage just shows the most recent builds and updates occasionally. His happened to appear on the page.
Ok sweet! I was wondering if there’s some what to see what’s take besides the gray circle that Windows shows in properties
Overkill? Gold is just barely above average lol.
69 points currently, don't wanna be the one to screw it up but this build is beautiful.
As a lover of black and white builds, I greatly appreciate this build! Plus the desk setup is amazing.
I have never gotten tired of the layout on PCPP, but I definitely still love the new layout! A little more bolded and full if that makes sense.
Thanks! Can't wait to actually use it on trips when I'm really craving some gaming lol
