Beautiful build man. One thing though, I think you would have been better off rolling with 8GB ram for now and using that money you could have gotten a 980 ti rather than a 980.

Just my opinion, doesnt take away from the build whatsoever. +1

Keyboards great, mouse is kind of boxy doesnt mold to the countours of your hand that great. Also the mouse wheel seems to squeek after a couple weeks for everyone, myself included. Needless to say, I replaced the mouse.

Thats pretty damn good if youre running ultra and just a single 980 ti. Ive seen benchmark videos of DUAL 980 ti's running ultra 4k between 60-70 fps

Just thought Id let everyone know who happens to read this later that I tried a few of the fixes in the "fix guide v2" link in the thread ksongs posted and it actually improved my fps alot. Solo questing I got a 15-20fps boost steady putting me between 65-70fps. In cities I went from 40ish to 50-55fps steady.

Thanks all

Netcode? Take it, its the coding thats fubar'd ? Thats a shame bc the game is actually lots of fun, Ive started gw2 also and between the two honestly I actually like tera better. Gw2 I get 60 fps locked in just wish tera could be that way too..

I may bump my cpu up to 4.5 and see if that extra 100mhz helps at all.

Man I think for $1940 you could have done alot better. This thing should have a 980 ti!! Any plans to sli the 970 though? And what kind of monitor you using?

Comment reply on boodlu's Completed Build: First build (17th Birthday Gift)

Should have started with a single 980 ti and went with an x99 set up, then down the line throw in a second 980 ti. Would have future proofed it couple years longer. A single 980 ti is overkill for 1080p, perfect for 1440p and decent for 4k.

Still an awesome build, just think 2500 could have been utilized better.

Personally I'd have gone with a single 980 ti with the option to sli down the line - just future proofs it that much more but hey 2 970s aint bad either not at all! +1

Why limit yourself to only one gpu? If 4k's what you want, the 980 ti will pull 40ish fps but you'd need one or two more to really glide smooth on ultra settings. Just my thought. You're still in an incredible position to upgrade if you ever change your mind +1
