Perhiperals is the extra things you need so mouse, monitor, keyboard and you said you only need keyboard right? You don't need a display or wifi? Anyways, here's what I've come up with (Without monitor and wifi), at your budget asethetics is a yes, the case doesn't have a price but it's going on sale on newegg on January the 14th. When I built my pc I used bitwits video which was a really helpful video and is aimed at begginers.

Example of a good streaming setup focusing on budget

It'll be better for you to chose the keyboard you want, I chose Logitech because I they've been good to me.

You'll also need a screwdriver to build the pc.

Ok, so you've missed a lot of details we need to know, but it's ok since your someone new to this site. First I'd need to know your budget ($500,$1000), your location (USA, Canada), and if you need the os and perhiperals which I already assume you need and then I'd be able to make a list for you. :)

Might want to wait for CES that's happening Monday, you should check out the livestream, it's all about them talking about unreleased pc tech. There's a rumour the RTX 3000 series is supposed to be 50% faster at half the power consumption so yeah... lol.

Yeah I'm so hyped for CES I'm really hoping for some juicy details and (hopefully) no long wait dates as I'm thinking of getting a new pc soon. I meant to say Zen 3 though lol there are so many Zens I'm losing track thinking next gen is Zen 2..

Here's what I recommend : PCPartPicker Part List

[STAFF REMOVED]

Much better cpu, 4gb of ram is enough unless she haves a bunch of stuff going on chrome, either way you'd always be able to get another stick when you need it. I chose a fast low latency 4gb kit. That case probbaly uses a crappy psu. Also her pc will be lightning fast with a M.2 ssd inside.

This is if you can get the student discount, I believe they come really cheap.

I imagine getting a laptop would be better, imagine bringing a whole monitor, keyboard & mouse on your lap, pc on the side, long power cord across the room during a class session.

I see, I wouldn't think the 3600 would become a bottleneck though more like the gpu? A 2070S is overkill for 1080p resolution and is probably the bottleneck here. Either way this guy is going to be able to play in 1080p for a loooooong time.

i7-9700k, the 9700k is a better version of the 8700k that is cheaper then the 8700k anyways. Also I rather the 9700k because your just doing 1080p gaming as you said. And umm for web browsing, well.. I don't think you'll see a difference lol

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Attempting to build a pc that will support 3d modeling & texturing"

  • 2 points

I don't know much about 3d modeling & texturing but anyways I'll try.. first off you'd want more ram and fast dual-channel memory for ryzen processors.

Your ram kit says 2133mhz which isn't fast and you'd want 3200mhz or something like that. It's also single-channel which means there's only 1 stick of 8gb ram but you'd want dual-channel ram which is 2 sticks of 4gb ram.

So point is, Ryzen performs better with dual-channel +3000mhz ram.

Also you chose a power supply with 850 wattage which is too much and your graphics card only needs 550w, so you can get away with a much cheaper power supply if you want.

Don't need a cpu cooler as the cpu comes with it's own cooler but if you want to get into some overclocking etc then sure. Good choice on the ssd

I think for this stuff it'd be better to get a much cheaper graphics card and get a better processor?.

How much do you want to spend, (USD)

+$3000 Best of the best

+$2000 Really good

+$1000 Still really good

+$500 Good

Yes. Maybe no? I'm always seeing pc deals so it's hard to tell. If you go to Canada Computers they have a boxing day flyer and they have some juicy deals.

Ryzen 5 3600X : $249.99 2070 Super : $599

Nvm the cpu although it's still a good deal I didn't realize amd cpus are so cheap now wow.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "2080 Ti "Budget" Build"

I like this idea but I think it'd be a more "balanced" build if you downgraded to a 2080 Super which would allow you to upgrade to ryzen 3rd gen/coffee lake refresh

Comment reply on Forum Topic "trying to pick a GPU."

They are all good gpus, I personally would go with the 5500 XT because 1080p 60fps is enough for me.

Also the 1650S is at the same price, might want to look into that.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is it worth changing just my HD7950 for a GTX2080?"

  • 2 points

I think it's the cpu because if your playing on the lowest settings that means lowest res right so 270p? 480p? And your gpu is almost equivalent to a 1050 and I'm sure it can still handle higher resolutions then 270p without lag. And 16gb is more then enough for that game so I think it's the FX-9590.

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/Pqdrxr,R64BD3/

I like that one too but it's really all upto you if you rather higher battery life or more performance & storage

To me I'd go with the first one as I would want a laptop with the more performance so I'd be able to play more unreleased games (Cyberpunk 2077 which I'm so hyped for) before it starts suffering in fps and then having to upgrade to a completely new one which I don't want to do

The battery life on the other one is twice as longer tho so if your a gamer on the go this might be the better option.
