Thanks for the advice! For now, I'm done fiddling with it. I've put together and taken apart that computer so many times in 24 hours and was less and less careful every time. I'm ecouraging the person I built the computer to replace his hdd with an m.2 in a few months. I'll likely take you up on your advice then.

I wanted to get the price down as much as possible. A lot of the people who want a computer this cheap don't really care about load and boot times as much. I was thinking about the $123 525Gb Crucial SSD though. Personally I'd pick that.
With my graphics card at 100% load and overclocked from 1695mhz to 1974mhz, my max temperature was 74 degrees C. I'm very happy with this, and if you want to build a similar computer, you shouldn't be worried at all.
I still need to know how much you care about size and looks. Also, how much you are willing to spend on higher quality parts that won't really increase performance.
But to build a better list, here is what I need to know: Do you care what the computer looks like or how big it is? What specifically do you want to accomplish? What is your budget? How long are you willing to wait before you buy? How long do you want this computer to last?
Yeah, it has a nice litlle stock cooler. Ive had this computer for about a month and a half now, but waited to post until I got my Dark Rock Pro 3 dilemma sorted out.
I understand generally how to OC, and I did what you said, but it bootloops until the computuer resets the BIOS after the 5th boot attempt. Ive spent a lot of time tweaking and troubleshooting and benchmarking and stress testing, but I cant seem to get it to work.

Silent switches are really quiet. They are basically Reds with a dampening mush to them. I hated it at first, but quickly got used to it. Ive owned this and Blue, so its essentially both extremes when it comes to volume.
Yeah. There is a RGB version that is 1.5x the price, but I have seen it on sale for the same price as the red-only one. I would only buy these if you are serious about MX Silent switches, as these are the only keyboards that have them. If you want any other switch and RBG Keyboard, there are cheaper keyboards out there.
Well, the main thing is that we were trying to get a "High score" for fps. So, "given the right circumstances" means, all lowest possible graphic settings in a superflat world staring at the ground. Even then it only broke 2000fps for a few seconds. I don't know how familiar you are with computers, but we only needed 60fps, as monitors typically can only support that many. So we have a 256x256 texure pack on the highest graphic settings and shaders and we get about 50fps, which is miles better than 2000 crappy fps. But we chose parts for the computer that we knew could achieve these things by doing research.
I could build a part list for you if you'd like. I just need to know if you are about aesthetics, noise, how much space you need, what you hope to do, and what you'd be willing to spend. If you don't know an answer to some of these things, I could still try and point you in the right direction.
