Oh, ok, thanks for the help. Sorry, I was on holiday lol :P
What settings would I have to turn down? Because in all reality, I feel like those wouldn't make a difference for me to avoid the screen tearing. But thanks anyway, I think I'll go with either your monitor or one of the two I chose.
I've gone into stores, and watched YouTube videos, but I really can't tell the difference. What do you guys think about these two?
Or this one:
Why not? Can't the monitor be 60hz? I really, really, don't think it will make a difference in my eyes.
Haha, thanks for helping me out... (in school) I do the same sometimes ;)
Definitely wait for MSI and Gigabyte and Asus to make their own versions, from what I know about the same principle for Nvidia cards, these companies make cards that are somewhat different, but better than the Founders' Editions of the Cards.
I'm not running on integrated graphics, and I'll be needing the unlocked processor, because I will be overclocking... Not sure what you're trying to tell me. My Gpu is the r9 380... if my first link didn't work then this one shouldn't. Click Me
I'm confused on why he can't wait until June 29th for the rx 480, which is 200$ and as powerful as the 980... don'y you want the 908 anyway?
The thing is, I'm colourblind and I have crappy vision, so I can't tell the difference between 4K and 1080p so derp me I guess. :P
Nvidia kind of wasn't expecting what hit them, when AMD produced their cards, which are slightly weaker for a lot cheaper, so I would go with the AMD ones for now... other than that, I think FirePro is coming out with a new gpu for ~5000 dollars, which might be able to let you watch the next Nascar race. (that was a joke).
Really should be... it's basically the newest gpu in the market anyway, so it should (most likely) be the most reliable one yet on the market. I hope you enjoy your first build!
Yeah, I do think the phantom is a little bit better... but personal preference, and wait for the rx 480 (June 29) which is as powerful as the gtx 980 for 200 dollars, or the rx 470 which is I think as powerful as the 970, but for 150 dollars...
Oh, didn't realise that you lived outside of the U.S., I understand now, but yeah... that's a really overkill build for now lol.
That's uh, quite the build. It's definitely one of the more powerful builds on this site. I never used or know anyone that used a Thermaltake PSU, so I'm not sure if it's a sketchy one or not... But in all honesty, you should build the pc yourself. Its cooler... and more personalised you might say.
Which one do you think is a cheap, but fast one for me?
Yep, I'm getting the rx 480... I just have that gnu there cause why not. When do you guys think that companies like ASUS and MSI will start making their versions of the card? Not planning on doing a lot of over clocking, so I'll just stick with the CPU cooler I have now. Thanks!
Haha, sorry about that guys... DERP... I was kinda falling asleep then... The right link is up.
Lol what do you mean?
Haha, have no idea, do you know any of the price for the 1070?
Yes, I know, the 1080 gpu is more powerful than a 970, therefore it would be bottlenecked by a 60hz monitor.
Really, really, nice build, but you have to change your monitor. Not necessarily because its a bad monitor, but anything 970, or higher would be bottlenecked by a 60hz monitor. I think, if you can, you should go with a 244hz monitor, like this One.
Yeah, don't go with a 970 because it would be bottlenecked by the 60hz monitor, and an r9 380 is about 5-10 frames better than a 960, but cheaper, so it will be the best possible gpu for the monitor/cost.
Haha, I think I'll stay with the r9 380 because its a tad bit better (5-10 fps) than the 960, and I've seen on CoD the 960 go to around 60 fps at ultra... So because I don't think I'll be playing at ultra (bad eyes plus colourblind-makes not that much of a difference), which would let the r9 380 soar in the game quality. Anyway, I'm ordering a 60hz monitor, so a gtx970 would be bottlenecked. But, yeah, I guess I am very lucky, at this specific time of year... My dad's not the biggest computer/tech mogul, but he still enjoys learning it and was happy to even build the pc with me, so he's also down away by the luck I'm having with the timing of swapping out pc's at his work. LOL
Haha, cool! Also, I just added the H5 Universal to my build, I was worried, but its only about a 20 dollar difference! Cheers mate for the recommendation, and I guess sometime I'll move on to Corsair H80 or something. :) But not anytime soon...
Ah, cool. CM Novatouch has Cherry MX Browns, or Blacks?
Haha, I'd love to have 4, or even 10 different gaming keyboards! Which one is your favourite?
Oh yeah, if anyone was wondering, my dad works at a company (ING) where he can apparently buy stuff not ridiculously expensive from staples w/o charge. So i found a good monitor and 120 gb of ssd on the staples website to get (for free). Also, the whole floor he works on is apparently switching computers... and that means taking out the two monitors he has. So I'll take those two, (even if they're complete shite) and maybe get a try-monitor setup. So, heh, big thanks to my dad. :)
I know a lot of people hate Razer keyboards, and I get that, but the only time I really got my hands on a mech. keyboard was on of these bad boys. Otherwise, I have gamed and spent the most time on apple keyboards, :(. So thats why I feel comfortable. Definitely when I have enough money, I'm going to buy something like the Logitech 710+. (Very sexy keyboard :3) Not sure why I started with your last point, but, yes, that is the parts list. I will definitely look into those coolers, thanks mate! Yep, I like the white/black theme somewhat, but I just like the parts that would give me the best performance. :P. Thanks so much for the help.
Thanks for putting in the time and effort, but I need a keyboard and mouse. Also, I think a 980ti would be a little overkill for my build/uses.
Sorry, I'm confused... I don't have the 970 or i6700k in my build. I also do happen to have a 650 watt PSU. I don't have a SSD in my build that i can "keep"... But otherwise, I've done lots of tinkering inside many corsair Air 540's, so thats why I feel comfortable with it.
Thanks mate, but maybe you are commenting on the wrong forum topic(?)
Sorry about that, seems to work on my other 3 laptops, here- try again: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
But if you want, you could put together something and maybe I can look at it, and use some of the parts I may have overlooked.
Budget: Somewhat less than $1300, but $1300 is fine.
Use: Playing Videogames and really just writing essays for school. Games would probably be CS:GO, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and maybe the occasional Minecraft.
Ah thanks, I think that means I'm going to go with the 650 GQ. Cheers mate!
Any particular reason why? (Not trying to be annoying, just wanna know)
Not bad for the price, I think you should watch out with the Headset and Mouse.
Ok, thanks, now I can get some help. :)
Sorry, I meant to say: "Because I said "Pack", I think..."
xD Sorry mate...
Because I said "scout", I think that's why you may think I was a cub scout, haha, but, no, I got to Star rank, and almost Life before I quit. But it's great that you didn't take offence to that. :P
No offence, like, really don't take this as any offence, (lol) but I always thought the Boy Scouts as something stupid. When I participated, (I never got to eagle, but got far enough :P) it never seemed that we would do the kind of adventure-stuff that was always implied when you say "I'm going to the boyscouts' trip". Also, there's always the "Pledge of Allegiance" and stuff along those lines and learning about the great presidents of America, but I don't agree with all of that they teach you, (including the religion I was taught in my "Pack". So, yeah, don't know why I felt the need to say that, but uhh...
On a lighter note, (heh heh) I was wondering if you guys could look at my part list (Marc's Build New), I think I'm going to put a computer together this summer, and I've fiddled with components in old Dell's and such but never was whiz. Could you guys give me some feedback?
I guess I'll go with a 970, and oc it!
Cool, I'm looking forward to Nvidia putting out pascal, so hopefully I can get a 980 for a good price. That would be amazing! Cheers mate.
