Works really well. Definitely worth it.
I'm very sorry for the late reply! Not logged on in awhile. I've actually got my 1600x clocked to 4ghz running at 1.38 on voltage (will have to check when I get home) and it runs good on temps. I've not had any hiccups. I've got it close overclocking to the performance of a 1080Ti. Every game I've ran with it so far I'm 80-100 FPS (RTX Enabled games) and around 150-160 for PUBG, Fortnite, Apex, R6 Siege
Under heavy load, I'm hitting around 60-65 celsius with 1440p gameplay. The highest it has hit with Prime95 has been 75. On a normal (just browsing the internet) I'm maybe pushing 25-30 celsius.
First build I've done in awhile. I planned on grabbing a Ryzen when I started putting together and first purchase I made to initially start this up was the 1600x. I ended up going with the Kraken because with the B350-F mobo, I'm a tweaker at heart BUT not wanting to where I wanted to go fully out and potentially damage computer parts. Plus I liked the RGB aspect of it aswell over the Wraith cooler.
I have a 1600x and was looking at adding on a 2070 to replace my 1050Ti. Have you experienced any bottlenecking?
I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner to you. My email has been down so logged in and noticed your message. G.Skill released another ram that's the same but the end codes (GTZR) are actually different. I've been able to get it to recognize with my build with no problems. Some people are able to and some are not.
I personally went with the DDR4-3200 MHz of Trident Z RGB. It looks like with the right BIOS the 3200 RAM will work but I don't have a x370 board so can't comment on it. This might help you out a little though. Looks like these guys have what you're looking for.
Already got all black cables. Came with the PSU.
I'm definitely going to be adding custom cables to the build. Just trying to narrow down what color I want to go with.
I know this may be a stupid question but how the hell did you get the Kraken turned into that direction? I'm using a B350-F motherboard even with the AM4 slot...and this thing is like it is a couple of your photos. Did you take it apart?
I'm pretty much building a system similar to what you have. Just a question regarding the RAM.
Have you been able to get it finally OC'd to 3200? I'm really stuck on getting that RAM but seen quite a bit where people are having problems with it. What is the workaround to get it to working?
