Air flow is surprisingly good. It only comes with a single case fan so if you add a big GPU and a hotter CPU you should add and get better fans. Like most cases it will support AIO coolers however that was not in the budget for this one. It does have dust filters, I made sure of that as my sister has a couple cats. I found another inside her old computer when I tried to fix it (noting the need for filtration).
I used an EVGA power supply and did my own sleeving. I kept the capacitors but moved them back so they ended up behind the MOBO in the cable management area. you can take a look at my build as I have a photo of one of the cables completed.
I would look at the straight cables if you can find them. It would cut down on cable clutter and cable management. I sleeved my own and was able to also make them the lengths I needed to cut down on excess. After doing it though I see why people buy them hehe, it is a bit of work but I think it was worth it.
Don't be afraid to paint the Blu-ray. it's easy to do as the fronts usually have tabs and clips to take the front off. the front piece on the tray generally has a slide or tab so you can pop it off to paint. Once you do it this way the front bezel and tray front are white (all the pieces you see). the tray itself will be black but only seen when you open the drive. I used to do this mod a lot on drives and even took them and painted the buttons as well and sometimes changed the LED colors. In short pop off the fronts (Carefully) and paint it as it won't hurt it. My only advice is use a good paint/enamel and primer. I have a shop that will custom mix spray cans for me in almost any color and I use automotive paints. Paint and enjoy that beautiful machine that is sooo clean and pretty.
I do watch the luge and bobsledding, I like sports with speed and from a person who has watched it many times and even gone to the Calgary Olympic park. It looks fun on tv but that is a huge track in person and a little intimidating.
I am now looking for a monitor to go with this as my 1080p 24 inch is ok but I'd like to step up. I would like a good 1440 27 inch. If anyone reading has suggestions please feel free to share them.
thank you, I watch the Hockey mainly but I did follow a lot of the sports, Curling, biathalon, almost anything but I don't follow figure skating. I really need to post the finished pictures with the decals and the video card hockey stick brace I made.
Thank you, cables were a lot of work to sleeve and then stitch together but really worth it. Both for look and also building in the bends with the stitching.
Thanks. I know the H240X is a little more but if you catch a sale and price match it helps as that is what I did. I think it was a good buy as it is expandable if\when I want for the video card. It's nice not to have a small hover craft beside my desk with all the fans going 100% like my old system.
Thank you, I really like the Swiftech H240X so far. I have it set to low and it doesn't increase until 55 degrees. so far I haven't heard it increase other than to calibrate. at the lowest I can set the CPU fan it is at 1100 rpm and cools the CPU to 33 degrees at idle and less than 55 when playing a game like WoW.
Thanks, I'm missing the two vinyl team canada logos that go above the little window and on the front bottom air vent area. But I wanted to get this posted up for some friends to look at.
I have noticed the same issue as MarcelFrancis. It has caused me to basically toss out and not trust any price I see from TigerDirect.ca. I noticed it on the CPU being listed on PCPartpicker at $359.97 but click the link and the actual price on TigerDirect is $429.97. Not sure what is happening but it is making some of the filtering not as reliable unless you take TigerDirect.ca completely off your list of Merchants.
Thanks for an amazing site otherwise and a great community to learn and get advice/recommendations from.
