I attempted to, the best I was able to do was 2666MHz at CL15 - not much better than the stock 2400MHz. The kits I have are OK at best, and from what I've read having mismatched RAM can cause issues with overclocking. I'm hoping to pick up a 16gb, 3200MHz around black Friday to replace what I've got.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I did notice a performance increase even with the small overclock.
I paired this build with an Acer GN246HL 144Hz monitor, and its definitely nice to be able to go past 60 fps. There are also some decent 75Hz monitors out there that could be nice - those extra frames do make a difference.
The way the AM4 mount for that fan works, I can only have it face up or down which is a tad annoying. I’m keeping my eyes open for other coolers on sale as this one is pretty small and gets loud quickly when I’m working the CPU.
I’d suggest getting the red version if you can - the blue LEDs are crazy intense. I keep mine in my bedroom and whenever a large windows update hit, I could sleep because of the light staying on.
I had the AMD cards kicking around before I got my 1050ti, figured I'd toss them in until I had a newer card. In the third pic, you can see it with the 1050ti, though the lighting is pretty messed up due to the fans/darkness.
By getting rid of the blue - that's how :P
