Awesome build! This is something i've been wanting to do. I have a couple of questions,
Where'd you get the vinyl?
Link to case?
Great job man!
Nice build. I've been wanting to do something small like this for a while. Any links to the case and PSU? Maybe you can steer me in the right direction, thanks.
Going to pick up a local 750 ti
Yeah, changed that around. The Ram stick was giving my problems with the space between it and the fan.
This is awesome. This is similar to a project that I want to do next. A small compact computer with any flavor of linux.
This is awesome ! +1
Yeah, how do I do that last part on here? I have a saved parts list but no option to submit it as a completed build..
Have you ran into any problems with your gpu, being that your psu is 450w? I have the same psu and the minimum requirements for the gpu I'm thinking of getting requires a 500w minimu, I'm sure yours is higher-end and would require more power. I was thinking of getting the powercolor axr7 260x
Hey man, I have the same case with a 1 fan header mobo. How do I connect extra fans? I use a 3 female pin/Molex cable to connect the front fan to the PSU via the molex/Type 3 connector, but that didn't work for some reason..
So I bought a 3 pin male and molex ended cable..I used my Psu type 3 end to the psu and the molex female end to the male end molex from the other cable, then plugged the pins to the fan cable.. This didn't work.. For some reason the molex end of the cable I bought had 2 pins, with the other two empty.
How many fan plugs does your mobo have? If you have one, how were you able to plug in your front case fans? I have a B85 mobo with one fan plug, which I plugged in the rear fan.. And I have the same case as you but don't know where/how to plug in my front case fans... :/
My front case fan has a 4 pin, so I don't really know what cable I would plug that into.. I guess I got to take a look at it.
Where do you connect all your fans? There's only one case fan pin slot in my mobo. Same case..
Doesn't the G3258 only support 1333/1600-RAM memory? Or does it depend on what the MOBO supports?
I thought the g3258 only supports 1333 RAM?
I'm in the same boat as you.. Is it that you cant' upgrade along with the B85? I think it's possible..
Can you overclock with the B85 MOBO?
Alright, thanks man.
Good, then I don't have to worry.
Nice. The only thing I myself would change is that keyboard.. It makes my eye sore.. nice build though +1
That's bad ***. Is that cpu compatible with B85's?
So it's pointless to to put 1600 RAM memory for this CPU?.. I was planning on buying the 3258CPU with a Gigabyte b85 (supports 1333/1600) memory and 1600 Memory sticks.. Would it just read its slowest speed instead?
Did you have to do a BIOS update on the mobo to support the CPU?.. I'm trying to pair the two together but i am worried they won't be compatible...
Did you have to do a BIOS update on the mobo for the CPU?
You had no problems with the 1600 memory ram? I thought the CPU only supported DDR3-1333
Does the G3258 support only 1333RAM? I noticed that other showed aswell (1600/1866) when choosing with compatibility enabled.
That partlist i'm really not considering anymore.. I was using the compatibility finder so my parts are inter operable.. Not sure how reliable that is.. I did opt for the PSU you mentioned on my other partlists. Thanks for your help man. By the way, its mainly for a regular mid-end desktop for browsing, streaming Netflix, office/school work.
I have an SSD, 8GRAM, a Gigabyte MOBO, simple case, and all the essentials.. The only thing I cant decide is whether to pay that extra and if it's worth it for the 4160. Every part would be the same except the CPU.. Maybe I could use that extra to buy a simple video card.. IDK.
Dang, that motherboard went from $30 in Jan to around $80 to date?...
I have been thinking about the G3258 or the i3-4150. I'm trying to build a budget PC, but with the current parts I have, the difference between the CPU's is 50-60ish dollars... I was wondering if its worth getting the i3 since it has hyperthreading and four cores.. any thoughts?
