yep. I've got an atx motherboard with an ssd, hue 2, hdd (that's one problem area so far), and I'm willing to look at them. The reason I'm looking at the Nzxt h500, 460x, and 275r, is that I have a large voucher to best buy and they are available, but I'll give the fractal cases a look. thanks for the help!
As I'm not a fan of my current focus g, I'm wary of other fractal cases
or "the good one"
It doesn't cable manage well, and the corners are terrible, the fans only support 120mm, in sleep the power button blinks a blinding white light forever, and some of the cabkes are not long enough to tuck away because of the cutouts.
That's very similar to my build, but I can't reccomend a different case enough, as I have it and hate it passionately, check out the phanteks cases or corsair around the same price
the first thingf to do would be upgrade the 770 since you got years out of it, but it's definitely the weakest point. any 10 series GPU will be enough for 1080p
No offense, but are you messing around? You know this build is fine. It's the newest and best verwsion of each part.
That doesnt have a mute though right?
Yeah that's what I was leaning towards.
ah ok. thanks. Since I'm only using 2/4 ram sticks, and they are the same price ill go with the ultimate.
Shouls be good
Yeah, I built mine a year ago, and I'm trying to clean it up.
Thanks for the tips. I'll try and neaten mine on the weekend. Since that link is to editing your build I cant see it
That's a good option. Anything really cheap as a placeholder, dont waste 250
Ah, that's right. That doesnt make sense then. Forgot about that, but I wouldnt reccomend getting a 250 placec holder. There is the GT1030
ah ok, that makes more sense, if it's gradual. If you haven't bought it yet, save for the 1080, grab a 2nd gen ryzen and board, the rather then 250 for a 580, just save it and use the seccond gen ryzen IGPU to like google for the interim
definitely at 1900$ You should have a high end graphics card, which the 580 is not. I'm also fairly certain that the PSU is excessive but im not sure. In a thousand dollars, you can get a 1070 with the same processor, so I'm puzzled by the GPU
Yeah I want to keep it. That's my quirk...
Looks amazing. Defnitely a goal! Thanks for the tips
I was on a budget, and at the time, I cut an SSD as an immediate need, since it wasn't absolutely necessary. I think you have a great list of input on all the issues, I've been looking at. I'll look into some sleeves, and I happen to have a piece of remarkably thin acrylic, so I will look into how to make a shroud. The fans are white, but I want it to look nice, before I light up the inside. Thanks!
Yeah, makes sense, I just need to make sure my version of windows can be reinstalled on an SSD, and I'll look into this other stuff
I'm not sure where it went, since at that price, you can definitely get a 1070. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jBbqWD is a list I made for someone else, but you can drop the SSD and HDD if you already own them. a 64gbssd can handle windows OS, and a 3TB HDD is fine. Caviar blue is usually a bit cheaper and just as good. You can also buy some RGB fans if you need them, but this build is generally comparable to better preformance at a similar price
yeah there are multiple levels of legit windows. was just checking, since I've met people who thought it came with the monitor and stuff
Looks good, just as a note, since it's your first time, do you need to factor the OS into your price?
A ROG motherboard is about the most expensive one. just look for a b450 board if you are taking ryzen 2, such as a pro4 or a pc mate. The razer case is also driving up the price, there's a 60 dollar or so phanteks case that has controllable rgb on it you can make green. If that's what your brother wants go for it. The memory can be slowed down a bit if you are dying to lower price. just thoughts
450 is really a healthy bidget. I've used a 1500x for the last year, but I would reccomend the 2600 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4D7v6h/msi-x470-gaming-plus-atx-am4-motherboard-x470-gaming-plus and any 16 gb ram you can find
That graphics card, the 970 is the biggest thing. make sure the motherboard is compatible with the 6th generation CPU you have, other than that good to go
Yeah, I agree, even cpu intensive games aren't too cpu intensive. It just means they're not graphically taxing either
If you are doing intense editing or math, then CPU cores matter, but for gaming or anything 1080p, a quad to hex core processor and 1060 6gb or 580 8gb will run it well
I mean you only need a 1060 6gb to crush 1080p max on most things. Prebuilts like the ones you linked aren't good for gaming, since they max the cpu before they start going up on the GPU which is stupid since they advertise gaming which never uses more cpu cores really. You get far more value in your build then those cyberpowers
My real question is why a 1080 be squandered on 1080p, just want to know. Build looks good, though you should check that the wattage all lines up since 550 sounds a bit low to me for the build
Looks good, all works, just wondering, why the case choice?
The killer sli ac board has wifi included
Oh I missed that. That's going to be the RGB for the kraken. As it's 20 bucks, I'd reccomend you do get the hub eventually, but you also have back ports.
I think you will be fine since only front IO and the hue take a usb
If you arent sending it through the roof the stock cooler is fine
EVGA cards preform like champs. definitely a good recommendation
It was replaced by H500, quite similar, but like 10 bucks up
ah ok. the s340 went up in price from what it used to be. I think they came out with a newer one at a slightly higher price. This build after rebates is 20 dollars below budget, and the phanteks case is placeholding 60, so you do have some space. Honestly as long as it fits in a case and the case doesnt fall apart, they aren't too different. There's some nice corsair and Fractal ones on a budget, though I dont recommend the focus G.
I'd reccomend you look at the s340 or s340 elite, as there is a black and red variant, I generally recommend the eclipse for the low price, clean lines, and good cable management, but the s340 has very similar features. It's up to you
1070 is pretty much for 1440 but an 8gb is a bit better than a 6gb 1060 at 1080, and I've never had issues with my 1060 at 1080p.
Make sure you do the rebates
Revised list to kill 1080p with OS and wifi included, there's a CPU fan in there, all good stuff
everything you need to use the parts comes in the box. The thermal compound works. That's all there is to it
yeah. It'll be fine stock. It can handle anything you can do to it as a normal user. It's got 8 strong cores
alright no worries. there isnt much difference, its just that at your price, you can grab a 1070 which would be squandered at 1080 imo
If you're using a 1080ti, go for 4k since it'll crush most things/
A 1070 can handle anything at 1080p right now, and are meant mostly for 1440p. Unless you're overclocking a cpu cooler isn't needed. Take that 20 pounds, and save it. cables come with parts
No reason for a case that expensive. Check out the S340 Elite. Awesome case, if anything it has more I/O
