What do you use this pc for? I like these small apu builds.
Awesome little build.
Sorry for the late reply. For what I use it for, it's great. I've been really addicted to Elder Scrolls Online recently and that is what is taking like 20% of my hard drive space. Runs it like a champ. Streams Netflix and .xvid files smooth as silk.
It's really a wonder how much work this processor does.
Amazon had them in stock 2 weeks ago for $99 with free shipping. They went fast. I'm sure they'll stock them again unless they're crazy.
I'll update with temps tonight after dinner. But the noise isn't bad. There is a fan that speeds up when a game is running, but no louder than the audio from the speakers. The fan barely fits, I'm not good at estimating measurements, but the space is about as thick as a grain of rice.
Thank you. I had already peeped all the Chopin APU builds before I decided to make mine. Looks like like you already had my +1. Cheers!
Your HTPC is set then. I like it, gave it a +1.
The 2200G really is surprising me how well it ran a couple of 3D games in full HD. If you do build one, I'm sure you'll love it.
Thanks man. Your Black Ice build is sweet, and is ready for a GPU whenever you are. I aaaaaalmost went with an Elite 110. Then I saw the 110 at a Fry's electronics store and it's a lot bigger than what videos and pictures make it seem.
I dont have a PS4, but its a little smaller than the old Xbox 360 S I had. Just a bit thicker.
I've tried Rocket League, and Elder Scrolls Online. Both ran fine at 1080p low. I'm downloading A Hat in Time, and Yooka Laylee but they'll probably play well too. Then there's all the 2D indie games that even an Intel can run.
Your original configuration is fine and will overclock on that motherboard.
The memory was bought during black Friday weekend in 2016. Wish I had the foresight and had stocked up on more of it.
It really was a great time to buy. Makes waiting for new technology and prices to drop again easy.
Hopefully he doesn't mind the brightness. I had a bright computer back in the day. I regretted making it like that. The lights in your periferal vision got so distracting that I ended up unplugging the fans and front panel lights.
Looks very nice. Very original color scheme. What do you play on it?
Great job with the cables. +1
Awesome little build. Hope you're enjoying it.
Thank you. The GTX is still holding strong in older and indie games. R6 Siege runs and looks fine in medium settings with low textures at 1440×900. 50 - 70 fps. The 2GB of ram is holding it back for textures. PUBG runs barely with the resolution turned down. Dirt Rally runs at a steady 60 fps on high settings. Really depends on the game.
Thank you! I'm not really happy with it, it's just the one cable is too close to the CPU fan for comfort. There's no window on the case so whatever lol. Cheers!
There's no way to use the area behind the motherboard. The mobo is too wide and covers the holes where you are supposed to pull the wires out of. The cables are also too thick to make a u turn through the the slim area from the stand offs. It was a bummer.
Noice! Cool seeing old computers still pewting.
Thanks! I really like the simple front. +1
Nice job for the little man.
Any pics of the front of the case?
+1 Awesome I3 build.
That looks bad ***. Easy +1
Looks good. +1
I really like seeing people build cheap entry level PCS. +1
Good luck with that power supply btw!
Nice PC! I like budget builds like this.
You're right, it's the kind of case I want. Thanks for the suggestion dude.
Only wish I had a wheel to play with.
Either a Thermaltake Core V21 or a Corsair Carbide 88R. Definitely something smaller.
I could have tucked them in the front bays like I did before the rebuild. At this point IDGAF, it runs what it needs to run just fine. As a kid I had to run Half-life 1 in software render mode. Made me appreciate milking hardware for all it's worth.
Oh man bro! What I should have gotten was an RX 480. WHAT HAVE I DONE!?
It's nice on the outside. There's no room behind the mobo for cables, no proper place for 2.5" drives, and the worst offender is no usb 3 in the front. I move a lot of baby pictures onto an external drive.
Thanks dude. I feel like there is a story behind your comment.
This is the second build this morning with an AMD FX8350 and 2 × GTX 960s. Similar motherboard, AIO, and ram too. I had to do a double take. +1 for giving me Deja vu
Thank you for your service.
Sleek looking comp. Very nice job! +1
I have a build with the same cpu, and graphics card. It runs everything I throw at it. +1
Cool looking itx build. I really want to go tiny on my next pc. Was it easy to work in that case with a power supply that isn't modular?
I like seeing these crazy budget builds. Hope you enjoy it! +1
Awesome budget box. +1
Awesome build to play source games. +1
Awesome well matched build. You are a great friend to offer him something like this. I'm sure he'll enjoy it lots. +1
Thanks man. I didn't really try since it doesn't have a window. I definitely won't touch your sexy whale 2.0 skill.
Big fan of budget builds. Yours is nice! +1
I don't know what you mean by cd driver. For Windows 10, I payed full retail price at Amazon. I'm sure wherever you bought the parts will have it for sale. I got the version that comes in a USB drive that way I don't have to mess with an optical disk.
My build has the same cpu and GPU and I am very happy with the performance. +1
