No he gets the discount from intel for being a consultant rep for them. Basically he works at best buy, but is employed by intel for employees that have questions about products. He can still sell them and get commission. if that makes sense

It's a huge discount. My friend can get 8700ks for 129-139 i believe it is. I think it's what intel sells to wholesale companys i believe. So it would be pre mark up price.

Doesn't matter. The 5 1600 is more than capable to push the 1080ti. Especially with the specs he has. Some games may see a dip in FPS if its super intensive on the CPU but other than that he'll be set.

If you go to http://thebottlenecker.com/#calculator you can see bottleneck based on your specs.. Per your specs you will see an 8% bottleneck which is in the "good" range. Going ryzen 7 you would maybe see 1-2 fps more. Not worth it. Your parts list is way more than adequate to push that 1080ti don't let anyone fool you.

Great looking build my friend, only thing i recommend is move slot 1 DRAM to slot 4. Your motherboard should have dual channel memory. And right now you aren't utilizing it! Other than that looks great!

You can do it! If you are interested, you could try building off this. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VDvykd i had looked at a 1k~ build for a friend and this is what i put together. It's 18$ above 1k and gets you windows 10 with 16g of ram and a ssd!

Right. Hopefully prices don't stay inflated to much longer. I want to build again and get on the 8700k with a 1080ti but all the cards for about 700 are reference cards. I want the K1ngp1n. Hopefully it'll go under 1k soon :p

Considering cryptomining doesn't play into race, ethnicity, gender, or anything in those lines, only wallets i'd say this is irreverent. 1 person buying 3 cards isn't going to jump graphics card prices 500 bucks buddy. 1 group buying 400 at 1 time will. Nice try tho!

I feel afterburner runs a lot smooter and easier than EVGA. Starts on startup everytime, no glitches, and it auto saves the launch profile so it starts on your custom curve

You can also use MSI afterburner even though it's not a MSI card. That's what i do and it works way better than EVGA and it doesn't show me playing precision x all the time.

The only thing you can do is get rid of RGB fans and just buy normal fans, and get a cooler master hyper 212 evo it's only 25$ and a great air cooler. you could also go with the ryzen 5 1400 which would still be great for your uses. These changes should drop you about 300~ dollars.

Great looking build. Should deffinetly look at an upgrade for the CPU in the future! You may see a slight bottleneck from the CPU side, which should be nothing major but when you calculate your parts, here is what you get: Intel Pentium G4560 @ 3.50GHz with GeForce GTX 1070 (x1) will produce 23% of bottleneck. Everything over 10% is considered as bottleneck. We recommend you to replace Intel Pentium G4560 @ 3.50GHz with Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.20GHz. Build looks great, that's my only recommendation! :D

If you go on google, and search bottleneck calculator, there is a website that uses the core components (cpu, gpu, memory, hard drive) and tells you your bottleneck. I did your specs and it's a 4% bottleneck which you won't even notice so i wouldn't stress about it! :)

With that monitor, if it doesn't turn on when your PC turns on, there is a feature in the menu called deep sleep. No not what i meant. I was asking the same questions you were? You were nice. And yes i still run my DDR3 build because all AAA at 1440p 144hz still run 90+ fps :D the 4790k doesn't need to be upgraded to new architecture cause it still keeps up no problem! Plus my build has been built for almost 3 years now, just an upgraded graphics card from the original. So DDR4 wasn't even out yet.

32G of ram is actually recommended if you are streaming/gaming on the same PC. Dual 1070s perform just as well as 1 1080ti. Slightly under that performance actually but the SLI looks good. 500G of storage is plenty depending on the games he/she plays. He/she probably plans to expand storage as it's needed, or it just wasn't added to the parts. Looking at your build, why didn't you do a SSD for faster boot and load speeds? Why didn't you choose a 1070 over a 1060? Why do you need a 6850k over a 7700k or even an I5? Upgrades can always be done later, as you said in your build :)

Nelli great build. Keep up the great work!

60 FPS streaming is based on your components and internet upload speed. If you have good upload speeds, and you have the right components to stream 720/1080 at 60 then you'll be good. I personally would say a minimum of a GTX 1070, 16g of ram, and an i5/ Ryzen 7 1700/I7

Comment reply on Aiidann's Completed Build: First pc build

You can do that, but it's sometimes difficult to setup. I would recommend to use the Graphics card only. You can buy an HDMI to DVI adapter so you can plug the HDMI end to your card, then the DVI cord to your adapter up to the monitor. that's what i would do.

No it won't. This comment makes no sense. Bottleneck happens when the information being transmitted can't be processed because something is at 100% usage (cpu/mem/gpu) and unable to process the rest of the info. Looking at a bottleneck calc, here is the result you get with his spec. His setup will run games for a long time with no issues. Great job Ricardo!

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with GeForce GTX 1070 (x1) will produce only 1% of bottleneck

It's because the product isn't being bought direct from Microsoft who owns the rights to windows. So anything recommending a way or mentioning a cheap key not from them is a breach of their terms, and PCP doesn't want to get in trouble for it being on their site :)

Great looking build! My only recommendation, because you have room between the GPU and CPU cooler, i would swap the fan to either pull the air from the cooler and exhaust out the top, or flip it to the other side and push air up through the cooler than exhaust out the top. Then that way you aren't pushing hot air towards your graphics card.
