There are aftermarket cooler options for that r9 290. There is the arctic accelero xtreme iii which I put on my gpu keeps the card pinned at 75 degrees unfer 100% load. There is also the nzxt g10 and the corsair hg10 that are brackets for cpu liquid coolers. Both will solve your r9 290 issue
If that r9 290 is bugging you I would suggest the arctic accelero xtreme iii. I put it on and temps stay between 70-80 full tilt at 50% fan speed. The intructions were also very good on several different forums. The other option is the hg10 and nzxt g10 but those do not come with a cooler and are missing vrm cooling.
Really love the build. This build could also be so much better with a few minor things. Besides this love the custom painted heatsink.
What kind of fans are those and would you recommend them?
Can you please do an all black stealth pc? Just replace the fans with silent wings fans from be quiet or some other all black fans. You should also plastidip the pci brackets black too. All in all it is a great build
Yes! Beautiful build. I always love see those gigabyte xtreme coolers on weird pci orientations. Great clean build.
Hey bud I don't think you want to bank on the 1080ti coming out anytime soon. Especially with that vr headset you have. I would just look for a used r9 290x,390x, gtx 970 or gtx 980 to fill in. Great build though
Yes for the tentacle por (can't put in the last letter because it gets bleeped). Love these kinds of builds with those nice led fans and the aio cooler on the cpu and gpu.
Put a 200mm fan in the front. It will bring in much more air into that small system. Also a blower cooler on the gpu would be a much better solution.
Yes yes yes. Love it. That is the perfect card to flip upside down. Those thermaltake fans are also great things to go with.
Love the tentacle ****.
Or broadwell cpu?
Nice build. Great job showing how "older" hardware can still kick some serious ***. Great job with the water cooling too.
This is totally something I would do with an itx build. Great job with the cablemanagement and fitting that huge watercooler in there.
Please tell me you are using this computer for more than just minecraft.
RIP eardrums. Yeah I had a similar situation. I bought a used reference r9 290 off a guy. When I heard the eeviews of the stock cooler being load I thought they were exaggerating but no they weren't. Ended up ripping the sucker off and putting on a arctic accelero xtreme 3 which makes the card run 20 cooler and I can't even here over my case fans.
Cheers for a baller htpc.
This build is baller man. I would do something with this with my build if I had an unlocked processor, the money and room for giant radiators
Looks like a windtunnel in there dude.
Add the cpu for crying out loud. Other than that looks good
Yes. Yes. A million times yes. Love the g10s on the 780s and also for sticking with older hardware. But why did you take off those beautiful asus coolers? Also beautiful case, cablework and everything. Great job
Why do you have a tiny cooler? That case should be able to support bigger cpu cooler. Other than that I love the config.
Damn man nobody really commented here. It is really nice, I love that gpu cooler and motherboard tbh
I love it. The white, blue and black look awesome together. Just wondering are those 60hz monitors?
Rest in piece ear drums. You probably want to find an aftermarket cooler for that card such as the arctic accelero xtreme 3 or a hg10 and aio cooler.
Yeah or you may be able to put it on top or back on the outside of the case because I think there are watercooling wholes out the back.
I have always wanted to see someone do a watercooling build in that case because it looks awasome. Shame about that reservoir that hides some of your pc. Is there some way you could get a smaller on and put it on the bottom beside your psu? Other than that it is beautiful.
Paint the gpu please. Linustechtips did a really great video and there are numerous forum posts to paint the gpu. If you want I can link them to you
Yeah go Canadian used market. Yeah got my gpu from craigslist. A little dusty but not something some air could not help.
Yes yes yes. Love the black and white
Hey I was wondering where you put your storage b/c there are no drive cages. Couldn't you put the fan and ran on the drive cage or is it too long?
Woooh corsair c70! You seem to be missing a gpu. Great build with all aio
Yay another Canadian. I remember when the dollar was not **** and you could get amazing deals in the states. Now . . . not so much. Great build with quality parts man.
The cpu. It is about 3 years old now
Noooo. Why did you buy that old generation and not wait for zen.
Paint the gpu or get a galax card. Also why did you get a beefier white cpu cooler. There are plenty of them on the market. Other than that great looking build
Yay! Go team red. Lovely little watercooled build
Great build. I have similar specs to you but I went with team red because it was cheaper.
You may be able to mod it. Or you could get a baller air cooler.
Yes. Get the water block for the 750 ssd too. This is going to be awesome. So out of curiousity why did you get strix 980 tis instead of reference. Cheers m8
Wow and he uses an dell laptop most of the time? Ridiculous. You should give it to someone who would appriciate it more.
Your poor ears listening to those reference cards ramp up. +1 for using old amd cards.
Please tell me what company makes that gpu. Also you may want to get a bigger power supply. But great build for a 15 year old
I freaking love it. This build looks amazing. The color scheme of mostly black a little white and some purple leds. Awesome!
Awesome awesome build. I would love to have this computer. Thanks for still using the cpu and gpu that have newer counterparts that are just the same thing.
Nice. You sound like my uncle who owns his own business and spends a bunch of money on a baller computer as a "work purchase" lol.
Beautiful. That and I love your case, just it is a little too big for me. 4.7 ghz on that cpu! Dang man, you got lucky with the silicon lottery.
Yeah you probably want to fix that. Your gpu may not be getting enough bandwidth
I feel you man. I had an r9 270 before I upgraded to a r9 290 with arctic accelero xtreme 3. Please do that cpu some justice and buy a decent aftermarket cooler and overclock that sucker. One of the easiest and cheapest ways to upgrade is buy used off of craigslist or ebay. As long as you are a smart buyer you should be fine.
Oh no. You have a unlocked processor with a motherboard that cannot overclock. Bad mistake. You also have a reference r9 290. I would either put an arctic accelero iii xtreme cooler on it or a nzxt g10 with a liquid cooler and some memory heatsinks. Definetly get another r9 290 for surround. The Micro-atx might be tight but it has been done
