Pros: Decent enough price point for extreme performance
Cons: None in my opinion
Powerful, but after coming from the 1080 FTW, I didn't realize how much of a pain the green Geforce logo would be. I miss the customizability of the FTW, but that's what you get for stepping up. I'm somewhat making up for it by adding a 1080 hybrid kit to the Ti, using a dremel tool to make appropriate modifications to the midplate. As it is, temperatures don't get above 71 on Wildlands, with an aggressive fan curve. Noise is what it is, but I've got headphones so that's not an issue.
Added the Hybrid cooler, now I can't get the dang GPU above 46 C lol (which I'm good with). Can't clock as high as what some people report, 2025-2037 seems to be the sweet spot, but it does handle games very well. Now time to wait for the next gen Ti.
Where do I even begin with this card...well, let me just say this.. IF...you are in the market for a new gpu, and are patient enough to save your money for the real good stuff, don't even think about it, BUY THIS CARD! Any GTX 1080 Ti for that matter will do. This card just about doubled my average framerates in demanding games like Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ark Survival Evolved, way out-performing the GTX 980 Ti it replaced. The reference cards get pretty hot on their stock blower coolers, but on water this thing stays cooler than an ice cube at an average of about 26°c at idle & 38°c under full load. If water cooling isn't your thing, one of the aftermarket cards should suffice nicely. 6 out of 5 stars!
I do not really need to say much. It's a FE reference card. Most people buy these because they want the newest tech the moment it releases or because you plan on watercooling. I run a couple in SLI with EK blocks and I could not be more happy.
Well, I should have held out a week and a half longer and bought the SC version, but overall I love this GPU and my 3DMark scores have been through the roof lol, scoring in the 98th percentile. I was able to get a stable overclock of +182 Core Clock and +300Memory. I have had one problem so far, but I'm not entirely sure if I have a problem with my GPU and should replace it or if it's just a current bug with one game I have. PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds crashes any time I play. I literally have to Underclock my GPU by 100-200 Core Clock for it to not crash. Not entirely sure why this fixes the problem, but it does. This card is a BEAST though! 4k gaming, is no joke.
At purchase time, this card is the absolute beast it claims to be. The newest games cranked up to ultra at 3440x1440 mostly go over the 100 fps my monitor is capable of.
A ************* ******* masterpiece.
Holy Cow! This GPU is absolutely sick. It has beaten the frames off of every last bit of software I have thrown at it. It smokes benchmarks, and makes every single game I play more enjoyable. The card runs hot (84c at full load), but that is normal. The blower design pushes it's heat out through the back of the case, so other components in the case are not exposed to the high temperatures. I wish I could change the color of the GEFORCE GTX logo, but that is a very minor gripe.
I always go with EVGA mainly because I'm an EVGA fanboy, but their Customer Support is miles ahead of their competitors along with their Warranty for their products as well.
