Originally, I went for the Windforce 3X, and i was quite disappointed for the lack of the backplate. Thankfully, the next day, the G1 went on sale, and I was able to exchange the 3X for the G1, just for a mere $1.20. A great deal in my book. That aside, the G1 provides stellar performance in ultra 1080p, and would probably give really good performance at 1440p. Very happy with this 980, although the GPU sag was something that screwed with my OCD, so I put a pencil to support it and hold it up. I also intended to change the LED from blue to red to match my theme, but the job seemed very delicate and I did not want to screw it up. I wish Gigabyte would have added RGB lighting. I could just turn it off if I didn't want the bright blue light shining. For now, it makes my build a red/black/blue theme.

two graphic cards are wind-cooling beasts and top card never reach 70 degree with the help of enough air flow in Air 540.

Really Powerfull card! Benchmarks amazingly! It has plenty of places where you can grip it so installing it wasnt too difficult. I suspect this card will do great when it comes time to dual gpu the card. Also it has TOONS of outputs, and nice little caps for each port. Oh and I did make a mistake when installing I thought i could completely intall it and remove the plastic wrap later (that way i made sure it was nice an shiny), however you can only remove it when it is out of its slot.

The G1 Gaming series of Gigabyte cards continues to deliver stunning results when overclocked. I had a G1 970 before this card, and it was great. This card is even better. Two full 8-pin power connectors give plenty of power for BIOS mod overclocks, and the upgraded Windforce cooler on this beast easily handles the heat produced at 1506.5 MHz / 7700 MHz / 1.275 V with a super-high custom TDP & power target. Very satisfied as always with Gigabyte's products. This is my third Gigabyte video card, and I don't see any reason to ever change manufacturers in the future - Gigabyte seems to always surpass the others.
