Asus - DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer - Cheapest name brand DVD burner I could find. I am too old-school at this point to do without a DVD/CD drive.

I have my case on its side and this drive sometimes makes vibration noise and/or will fail to burn. Turning the drive flat (case up) is fine.

I thought it was going to be louder based on the reviews I have read, It works fine and doesn't throw my build off in my mind.

Again, gotta love promo codes. A disc drive is a disc drive right? How many times will I say that? It does what it needs to do and I'm happy with it. Only complaint is the thing sounds like its going to lift off and fly away when it's turning a disc. Good thing I don't use it that often.

Lite-on, it's quality, it's a great budget drive.

Very cheap! This is both the Lite-On's biggest selling point and annoyance. I will no doubt only use this drive during inital setup and windows install. Beyond that I think I will have little use for it. That said it is useful to have the drive just in case. It is a little noisy during operation.
