Hey All, This is my first build, and I'm looking for advice on optimizing my performance for gaming while keeping the price around $500 USD, including OS and miscellaneous gear. I'm not looking to do incredibly heavy gaming, but my current system overheats playing Diablo III @ 15FPS and can't even handle Starcraft 2. So I'm looking to build something that can handle those games with ease while allowing me to explore and experience some newer PC fare as well/be slightly future resistant (I hesitate to use the phrase 'Future-Proof' for $500).
Below is a part list I've pulled together http://pcpartpicker.com/p/j6R2NG
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor $96.95
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard $45.98
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $52.99
Storage: Sandisk Solid State Drive 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $47.99 (I have a 1TB external drive for Music/Movies)
Video Card : Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 2GB Video Card $99.99
Case: Enermax ECA3212-BL ATX Mid Tower Case $15.50
Power Supply: Rosewill Stallion 500W ATX Power Supply $44.98
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-14 DVD/CD Writer $17.98
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) $101.49
Wireless Network Adapter: Encore ENEWI-1XN45 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter $7.89
Total: $520.74 (including rebates/combo deals) *I already own a mouse, keyboard, and Monitor that will work.
Any advice on what to ditch/keep/substitutions would be appreciated. Thanks!
