Apple_skates99

hello everyone, im just doing some research on an all AMD build. budget is $2,000 usd or less. goal is to have high frame rates at 1080p and 1440p (100+) full of rgb. i wont need any peripherals, windows 10, etc. i will need a case. i love white and black cases.

Same with the VII, it's actually EOL already.

Psu and gpu could be better, but theres kind of a stock issue with the 3900x, like everywhere

  • 1 point

wat

The RMx is a great PSU. Its better than the g3 in your build

The VII makes sense zero sense to buy given that with a overclock the 5700 XT will get similar performance for $300 less. Hell you could almost get two 5700 XT's for the price on one VII. Plus it has been mentioned before its EOL despite it not being old what so ever, AMD killed the card between the price at $700 and the 5700 XT releasing.

True, I changed the board to a X570 due to little more features. But at this budget, a radeon vii won't fit. His budget is $2k and the price to performance ratio isn't worth it.

Left some performance on the table for all the RGB, but in this budget you will do fine at 1440p for some time to come!

The "best".

Reason for skipping the 3700X: The 3800X has a higher PPT envelope than the 3700X. The 3700X's PPT tops out at 88W, while the 3800X is 142W.

That opens up the door to a extremely aggressive all core boost behavior of 4.4-4.5Ghz, widening the performance gap beyond what we see on the spec sheets and userbenchmark since the data is noisy and we don't know if the users enabled PBO or not.

The 3800X's 105W TDP will allow it to behave more like the 3900X when it comes to higher all core thread-count frequencies until it maxes out it's 8 cores, which will put it ahead of the 3700X in multi-threaded performance workloads.

Reason for skipping the 3900X: The 3900X has a stock issue and 8 cores is plenty enough for just gaming.

3733 speed RAM with is the sweet spot for Ryzen 3rd gen builds.

Not the "best", but better bang for your buck. The Radeon VII is only slightly faster than the RX 5700 XT.

Out of all the systems on this post, I'd go with this one. (not because it's mine)

  • The 3800X is an insanely powerful processor, with 8-Cores and a 3.9GHz clock speed, boosting to 4.5GHz on all cores.

  • The motherboard is black/white and that's why it's that. (I'm 13 so forgive my impatient grammar)

  • 32GB of corsair white ram, clocked at 3600MHz.

  • I'd go with the 2070 SUPER, but "all AMD build.". Soo yeah.. The 5700XT is the way to go.

  • The psu is an RMX 650W Fully-Modular 80+ Gold rated PSU, excellent psu from corsair.

  • There's 3TB of spinning-rust storage, with a 500GB Sabrent Rocket Gen4 NVME. So it's really fast.

  • The case is the lovely and glorious corsair SPEC-OMEGA case, excellent airflow and rgb fans included.

  • The CPU cooler is sooo nice, it's the Corsair H100i Platinum White, it's beastly and beautiful.

  • As for the custom cable extensions, their from EZDIY-FAB so yeah nothing much to say here.

Why a 3900X for just gaming?

Not to mention, a 3k build for a 2k request?

All AMD

Not sure if we can use an Intel SSD in an "all AMD" build... seems.... icky...

Then again, there isn't a AMD SSD (You listening, AMD?) lol
