Can I support a gigabit connection with this adapter?

Hello,

I just want to confirm that I should be able to take advantage of a gigabit connection with the following network adapter, included on the following motherboard.

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V mobo: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

I don't know much about this kind of stuff, I've been using a Netgear WNDA3100 (max 300mbps) for like 10 years so this will actually be my first wired connection lol.

Please let me know if any more information is required! Thank you!

Thank you for that, I don't own a modem but rental is free with my gigabit package from my ISP, so I should be all set there.
