I cannot seem to find the answer to this lost my manual
You can download the manual from ASUS website under download section.
Here's an excerpt from your manual:
When the M.2_1 Socket 3 is operating in SATA or PCIE mode, SATA6G_5/6
ports will be disabled.
* When the M.2_2 is occupied by M.2 device, PCIe x16_1 will run at x8 mode.
found it question answered...... my only other question now is do all SATA ports perform the same
No but giving how slow the interface is it really doesn't make enough difference to matter in almost all situations.
There isn't any data yet on X570 but.
Intel's chipset Sata is slightly faster.
AMD's chipset Sata are slightly slower because Sata on AMD is also routed over data fabric so there is a latency increase.
Add in controllers on both platforms are slower then chipset Sata having a more complicated route and more are tied to a M.2 and run through a splitter as well as the add-in controller.
Overall Your looking at maybe a few seconds difference depending on a ton of factors Ryzen side and not really enough to worry about.
