Started happening last night out of nowhere. Any audio device plugged into either the back green 3.5mm jack, or front audio jack produces an extremely high pitch sound. Sound starts as soon as Windows is loading. Any audio playing (tested music, windows sounds ect.) is barely audible regardless of volume.

Have tested the following:

  • Tried different speakers and headset
  • Uninstall and reinstall latest Realtek HD audio drivers
  • Uninstall and reinstall latest graphics card drivers
  • Tested out side of case with minimal components connected
  • Tested with a different power supply (Corsair AX1200 and Corsair VX550)
  • Have tried disabling powerstates C6 and 7, speed step and C1E.
  • Tested alternative graphics card
  • Reset bios

All tests resulted in the same high pitch noise. Is there anything else I should try, or should I just contact ASUS for RMA?

If no changes in surrounding environment, contact ASUS for RMA.
