The the older i5-8400 chip is sharply overpriced, absent of performance ratio to cost equality when compared with the newer 9400F (better paired with a B365 board) which is marginally nippier and $100 younger.

Alternatively, for $10 more, the i5-9600K delivers anywhere between 15-25% more performance (paired up with a Z390 board)

Faster SSDs (NVME) are available for less. If your purpose of use is gaming and the general day to day, this ones fit for purpose: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9nhKHx/intel-660p-series-1tb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-ssdpeknw010t8x1

CASE: No comment! This is a DIY approach which i'm completely unfamiliar with. Interesting case option though - if you have online material available where others have successfully approached this type of scratch MOD, link me up, as i'd be interested to see how this pans out. If not, hope you'll keep us/me posted with your end-result.

I'm not saying this wouldn't work. But when you get into custom cases you start screwing in an area that has a ton of little details that literally no one but you is going to solve.

I would use a case like this. it has two handles and is designed to be small to carry around. Your gonna save a ton of time and money in the long run using something like this instead of a custom case.

Or something like this, which reminds me of a briefcase a little more.
