Hello everyone,

I am planning to build a pc with a price limit of $1500 Candian. I am very new to this, and having a hard time figuring out what would be my best options. I plan to mainly play fps games like Apex, and would be streaming off of the same pc. I found a build, and modified it a bit. If you guys could either optimize it for me, or just tell me what you would do it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance ! here is the build i was looking at btw. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bKxpP3

  • Switched to a Ryzen 7 (you have more resources to allocate, if you intend on using a CPU-based encoder)
  • Better SSD
  • Added 2x140mm fans, as the case only comes from the box with one fan
  • The system will use nowhere near 850W, 550W will be just fine.

For gaming and streaming, the Ryzen 2700X's 8-cores and multi-threaded payload is the go-to solution for uncompromising performance. There are cheaper 8-core alternatives available but the X-series scales ahead with nippier boost clocks, faster core clock frequency (8-12%) and boxes a beefier cooler worth around $40-$50 cad (some nice RGB effect included)

I threw in the newer, more airflow friendly, P350X case from Phanteks (OPTIONAL)

550W is sufficient for the builds draw

thank you for your list, and input! much appreciated ! I noticed the other two lists provided had added fans, would that case eliminate the need for the extra cooling?

It would provide better cooling, but I’d still recommend adding the 140mm fans from my list (that way you’ll have maximum positive pressure, which is good for system temperatures, as well as mitigating dust buildup)

Exactly on the budget also put in a nicer motherboard then the one you had.
