Focus G Help

GarageMan

I'm using the ATX Fractal Focus G, with the attatched parts list, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/npRhGG and was wondering if anyone knows this case, since I really want to cable manage it and make it nicer looking from the window. Any guides? Thoughts? Tips? Hope this is the right place

No SSD?

Probably the best things for your system will be sleeved extensions for the motherboard power (24 & 8 pin) connectors, and maybe some glue backed loops for cable ties that you can put onto the motherboard tray, a 90 degree sata connector for the hard drive because that might be an issue according to the second video I linked.

Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkB-GNEt9Fk

This will give you a good introduction to cable management.

This video has a really nice system built into it, and gives you a great example of cable management in your actual case. Except of course that they have an AIO instead of your regular air cooler, but there's not a big difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y51PcKa901I

The last thing that might help is finding something that hides where all the cables plug into the power supply. A piece of acrylic or something that is either black, or matches the colour of the case.

Lastly the fans in the case are White not RGB I believe, you will probably need an LED strip or three in white to light up the interior properly if that's what you want to do.

I was on a budget, and at the time, I cut an SSD as an immediate need, since it wasn't absolutely necessary. I think you have a great list of input on all the issues, I've been looking at. I'll look into some sleeves, and I happen to have a piece of remarkably thin acrylic, so I will look into how to make a shroud. The fans are white, but I want it to look nice, before I light up the inside. Thanks!

Yeah. Making a shroud and getting sleeved cables will be useful. Try uphere or Asiahorse for the cables.

So you need an optical drive? If not look at the cooler master master box 5 lite

Yeah I want to keep it. That's my quirk...

I just finished doing a build in one. Many of the cables can be route behind the motherboard tray. Route the HD audio cable before placing your motherboard. It is very hard to get through the provided hole once it is in place. There is not a power shroud so a lot of your cables are visable. I want back and zip tied my front fan and SATA connectors to the back of the drive cage after I finished building. This made a big improvement in how the cable management looked. I zip tied my GPU power cable to the front of the cage. I'm leaving the link to the build guide. The white LED picture is before I redid the cable management and the purple is after. I apologize neither picture is great quality.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try and neaten mine on the weekend. Since that link is to editing your build I cant see it

Sorry about that. This should do it. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/yYhypg

Also one thing I forgot to mention in my previous post, be careful with the acrylic window. I scratched the inside of mine with the GPU power cable.

Yeah, I built mine a year ago, and I'm trying to clean it up.
