Maybe look into Unity? It's not a from-scratch ground-up coding experience but you can make something functional pretty quickly using C# or JavaScript for scripting.

Mac?

You should seriously consider learning Swift and try to develop a game for iOS. It could be fun!

There are a lot of tutorials for Swift. This is one channel that I've used - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3MWPU0RhJzHSHn1P1zZ0p1dcUKsppiya

Scratch.mit.edu is an online flash program which you could try out. It's not really a programming sort of thing, but it's a good way to learn how you go about programming.

I used greenfoot (Java) in school, it isn't great but it can be used to make mini-games probably (I think it can be used to make things on html websites and windows/mac computers, but not on IOS/Android)
