Got a 7700k and I have been told they run quite hot especially when overclocked and I was wondering what the best way to delid this cpu would.

If you got the 7700k, you should try clocking it as is really (as it sounds like you have not done so already?). If your not happy with performance then consider delidding, after all you will void your warranty if you card about that sort of thing and realistically will squeez a few 100 Mhz out of it which may not be much of an impact.

If you do go ahead with it, ideally get a tool for it. Not sure were you live but google Skylake / Kabylake delid tool and options will come up. Watch some video's if your new to the process:

Yeah haven't got it in my system yet but I guess I should overclocking it without the delid. I was just curious on how I would go about doing it.
