Does the said ssd get damage from static? Or does it hve an anti static feature. I've purchased 1 and it arrived just today. As I was opening it, I forgot to remove my sock and ground my self. I held it by the sides. I was wondering if I could have potentially damaged it. I can't test it yet since I'm still planning to build my pc a few weeks from now. P. S the floor was made from hardwood.

I have yet to zap a component during a build, most stuff these days can handle being treated far rougher that you would think. Its fine stop worrying.

ESD hasn't been a real huge problem for a few years now as most manufacturers have started to add ESD protection into their circuitry. It is still wise to be careful just in case though. I normally touch the metal of the case to ground myself before I touch much of anything else. As to wearing socks on hardwood floors, you are not generating any electricity that way. Now if you were on shag carpet or something like that...
