Interesting rumor: hexa-core i5s

It's sourced to Benchlife via WCCFTech, so take it with the obligatory pile of salt, but they're claiming a six-core, non-hyperthreaded CPU has shown up in the SiSoft Sandra database on the mainstream platform.

An obligatory pile of salt is an understatement. Would be an interesting concept, but I don't trust WCCTF enough to even consider it a rumor, more of a guess at best.

It would be nice if intel started making a high core count CPUS more mainstream, but I think that they would start making their entry level i7s hex core first... It could be that intel is attempting to compete with ryzen and make 6+ core cpus mainstream...
