Coding and Light Gaming

Odd request so I thought I'd seek some advice. Got a buddy who deals in coding for his work and he has a pretty crap computer at home. He would like to get a solid rig for himself but oddly enough he knows nearly nothing about PC hardware. (I know right? Strictly a software kindof dude)

His budget is around $1000...

I assumed he would want a rocking CPU like an i7 with a solid cooler to get him set up well, but if an i5 would do that would be amazing.

you dont need a i7 open for OC and more if you're goign only to code and play low requests games. For that get a 7500 and a RX470 you dont need more.
