Found these msi cards and I'm pretty sure I want to buy the 4gb because it is so much cheaper but I don't know if I'll need the 8gb model. This is the 4gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/MappingPrice2012.aspx?Item=14-137-032&regularpurchase=1

There is about a 60 dollar difference between the cards so can the extra 4gb really justify that in any situations. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're not playing above 1080p then the 4GB version is enough.

Even above 1080p, 4gb is almost always plenty. There are a few games that may take a lot of VRAM but usually VRAM is only used for texture sizes and the like.

if you plan to upgrade to 1440p or 4k get the 8GB, otherwise the 4Gb will be fine.

What about with mods or anti-aliasing.
