Rig Takes Almost 2 Minutes to Boot

I noticed over a month ago that my PC was taking longer to boot. Maybe 20-30 seconds instead of less than 10 seconds. I didn't think much of it since my computer was installing a lot of OS updates during that time frame. But it has gotten worse at almost 2 minutes.

According to Samsung Magician, my boot drive is perfectly healthy (Samsung 840 EVO). I've checked to make sure its firmware is updated, I've run a benchmark and performance optimization test and everything looks fine. Its current read/write is 532/524 out of the advertised 540/410.

Naturally my first thought was "why the hell is the write speed so high??".

I go to enable rapid mode only to find that the requirements check shows an X for the operating system and figure this must be the issue? I've just read that the 4.5 firmware has this issue with Windows 10.

Could be that you have a lot of programs that startup when you turn on your PC, check the startup tab in task manager.

I ****** up somewhere because I reset my bios to default settings and it fixed it.

hangs head in shame

My second guess was going to be that I moved my ram into A1 and B1 from A2 and B2 <-- recommended with my mobo, but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues.

Any idea what setting in the BIOS may have caused it?
