Sound Card or New Mobo?

I recently found out that the motherboard that I used in my first computer build does not have a Toslink output, I use Astro a40 with a mix amp so I need the Toslink for surround sound. While doing some research I found out that the model of motherboard that i used (MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard) is the only one in the series that doesn't have a Toslink connection. I have also found that it is difficult to find sound cards that offer a Toslink connection, and have 7.1 channel surround sound. I am looking for some advice on whether or not i should keep looking for a sound card or just look at getting a new motherboard.

Apparently you can, I have never done it because I used to use the Astros for my Xbox One. But apparently you can listen to music through the usb.
