Basic Office PC for 9 Year Old

I'm looking to build a computer for my sister. This would be used for her homework, the usual web browsing/youtube videos, and the occasional flash-based browser games she plays. I have a 24" 1080p monitor I don't really use anymore, so I would let her use that for her build. As far as storage space goes I really don't think she needs more than what this SSD will offer her. Besides, it's not difficult to add additional storage space down the road.

Looks good to me. Nice budget build.

Yeah I figured it doesn't need to be very complicated for what it is. Plenty of room for expansions even 2 years from now being that it's using the new skylake architecture.

Yep. My only suggestion is that you might splurge a little on a fancier case. There are a lot of sub-$50 cases that a 9-year-old might appreciate more than the frumpy FBM-05. Since you plan on keeping it around a while, I think it would be a worthwhile investment, especially considering what an outsized effect the physical appearance of anything has on a young kid. Does she have a favorite color?

Pink or purple probably would work for her. I might grab a purple corsair fan. I do like the 88R case. Very nice and a great value for what it is.

I have this list sitting in my saved lists, its in an HTPC case which takes up less room. - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tomtomj2/saved/#view=C94cCJ

CPU is $44 because my microcenter is having a sale.

Can't go wrong with that price point, but i'm looking to go with skylake for better future proofing.

I also knocked off the optical drive because I don't even use mine, so I'll just pull it out of my own rig.
