Description

The idea of this build would be based off one of my favorite Marvel characters. This was my first build ever. I switched from console gaming (PS4), to something that is going to last me a long time. Since this was an original Hulk themed build, the Green NZXT H440 was the perfect fit. The motherboard (Gigabyte Game Plus) was never released in the States. I had it shipped from the UK and it took three weeks. Which was ok because it gave me a lot of time to shop around for great deals. Reddit PC Deals was a great tool I used for promotions. Everything in this build was on sale at a massive discount either using Newegg, Jet.com, Amazon, and NCIXUS.

I custom painted my Corsair fan rings green to match and even was able to spray the H105 to keep it all uniform. The Mushkin 1TB Reactor was a nice touch as this is a Gamma Core and all and a hint of purple from the GPU and Motherboard cables. And to give it that extra flare, I installed the NZXT Hue+ which I am incredibly happy with. There are a lot of customization options and it apparently had a small software update to make customization easier. Overall I am incredibly happy how this came out and I'm happy to share these pictures with you guys.

Also, big thanks to PC Part Picker for all the reviews and compatibility algorithm to ensure I was nabbing the right parts! Hulk out!

Looks like you got the top comment on this feature at the right time! 46 upvotes (47 points) as of right now... that's impressive. Well played.

Thank you! I'm very surprised it got that high, never expected that. Also, have you noticed that you have more karma than comments?

Pls not this PC, here, take a different one. A toughbook. That should last around three more seconds than normal.

Edit spelling.

Nicely done all for under 2k! I am quite jealous i want to do a green build as green is my favorite color. Enjoy this is awesome!

Edit: the only thing i would have done differently is had a set of black ram and only one set of green ram. But hey im strange like that

Ha I get it! Black would have worked well too :)

Logic: Spends $1900 on a computer. $30 on keyboard and mouse :D

Ok, jokes aside, this build is AWESOME. I dig it.

Just on a side note, what did you use for photos? :D

+1

  • 1 point

LOL! Well I was using an Amazon Basic Keyboard and Mouse before this one so this is a huge upgrade for me lol! And I used the Sony Coolpix that was lying around and an iPhone 6 Plus for some photos.

  • 1 point

lol. I am actually typing on a devastator ATM too.

I used an iPhone 6 to take shots of my build, but it didn't turn out that amazing. I might try photo shopping my next build, so the photos can look nicer. :)

Top job son the all the cable management and assembly. Looks sweet! +1

Thank you! And I actually had bought Cable Combs from Cable Mods for this build but they ended up being too small. But the braided PSU cables seemed to hold up without them.

  • 1 point

That's lucky, my cable mod cables do a horrible job at holding up. I got combs and cable ties everywhere!

  • 1 point

Ha! The combs I purchased don't even fit the braided cables so I have no use for them. They hold up on their own thankfully.

love it! but to keep the theme going you should paint the white rings on your speakers they stick out like a sore thumb

  • 1 point

Ha! Im trying to take the rings off as we speak. Great idea! If I can pry them off, they will be getting a layer of spray!

Soo sexy, but purple LEDs would make it breathtaking

Love the part selection

  • 1 point

Thank you! And I did think about black-lighting, but I didn't want to be stuck with just one color. With the Hue Plus, all the LED's are entirely customizable even to each LED.

I love this build, I was always looking for a black/green motherboard and could never find one.

Gigabyte makes great ones. And come to think of it, they are the only ones that make green I think?

  • 1 point

wow, really well done.

  • 1 point

It's not easy going with any color outside of white black red and blue so I give props for that. A custom loop in this build would be set. I'm getting parts together to throw a purple loop in my red and purple system but it's not cheap. One of the only ways for me to get more purple outside of painting more of my case.

  • 1 point

Sounds awesome! Would certainly love to see that!

really like the black, green, and purple mix how's the navida drivers holding out for ya? and also how's the power supply and motherboard but anyway congrats on getting featured as well :D oh and #69th like lel had to say that

Buys a 980ti gets a 30 dollar Keyboard and mouse combo and a 1080p monitor with a bottom barrel PSU

Also why reference and why reference Zotac

Why the H105 instead of a H100i (GTX)

Great build but uh....don't you have you're rear exhaust fan on backwards..?

  • 1 point

he's probably using it as in intake thats what im doing

  • 1 point

Maybe but still, just lookin out. Plus it's like the least optimal thing you can do in the H440 since it has some trouble with airflow.

  • 1 point

Two words WOW and AWESOME.Nice build.

its a shame you had to buy the cm storm devastator, with this budget, it would make sense to get a high end mechanical keyboard....

indeed very clean cable management and good job on getting a consistent colour scheme.. i just dont personally like the colour scheme xD

  • 1 point

This Build was executed perfectly, green is one of my favorite colors and It is becoming harder and harder to get a good match of colors in a green themed build. Very well done it looks amazing!

  • 1 point

Thanks! And I know there are a ton of red schemes out there. Builders are almost forced to use red somewhat because every motherboard seems to be red. And green is and always will be my go to color :)

This is one of the most unique (in a good way) computer's I've ever seen.

Also, it reminds me of the joker as well!

Amazing color scheme! Good job dude!

  • 1 point

Nice stuff,

I think you should have gone with the Zotac Amp extreme instead of the reference model to have a better performing and quieter card(I guess hulk was never very quiet though), That card has a monster heatsink. (appropriate for hulk)

I also think you should have gone with a better quality psu (Hope you're lucky with the sleeve bearing fan) with a better ripple suppresion which would mean a better overclock. Still a pretty good psu though.

  • 1 point

How does better ripple suppression equate to a better overclock?

  • 1 point

Basically, dips in volts can occur due to ripples. these dips in voltage can cause your psu to not output the required voltage for the overclock, requiring a higher vcore to achieve the same overclock as a psu being able to use less vcore with less ripple. If you have to use more voltage, then there is less room to overclock with due to thermal limitations.

Read this thread here, it does a great job of explaining it. http://www.overclock.net/t/719397/on-ripple-and-its-effects-on-overclocking

  • 1 point

This pc build is one of my favorite builds because even though the blue and green dont seem to match up on paper, you did a wonderful job to seamlessly blend it together 10/10 IGN

  • 1 point

The color is purple in person but I think the camera made it a bit blue. However, I agree! Both colors actually work flawlessly. And the NZXT Hue + gives me my color freedom lol

DAAAAAAAANG! Goes to show you can stick with a great color scheme without having to sacrifice performance. Love it! Btw, was your experience with Jet good?

  • 1 point

Jet was awesome! I know there are mixed reviews depending on who you are getting your item from. However, all my parts I purchased from Jet came within 3 days AND I was able to get 15% off certain parts. This is why the 4790k and the Muhkin 1TB Reactor are listed incredibly low in my build.

Both sprayed. Fans came with white rings and so did the H105. I used Rust-Oleum Fluorescent Bright Green Neon for them :)
