Description

I use this PC every day for gaming and general use. Can't go wrong with the 7700k and the 1080 TI.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU, runs warmer than 6700k but still can't go wrong with the 7700k. Min: 35°C Max: 88°C (Spikes only) I live in an apartment complex on the third level. Ambient temps are very warm.

CPU Cooler

Keeps my CPU cool and under control. No complaints here.

Storage

I'm pretty good at conserving space but eventually I'll probably need more. For now, this is more than enough.

Storage

Mostly put older games here (L4D2, Payday 2, etc.). Also can put gameplay recordings here. Love the extra storage space.

Video Card

Upgraded from a 970. Runs extremely cool on its own. Temps as low as 30°C. Never seen it get above 70°C. Destroys any game I play (PUBG, League, Overwatch, CS, H1).

Power Supply

More than enough power for my needs.

How did you like that NZXT case? Any comments re: enough room, cable routing, etc?

I really like this case. There is plenty of room. It can fit dual video cards and there is room for my Corsair cooling radiator on top. Cable management is good if you are into that (I know mine is messy). The side panel window is plastic and kind of small so any type of RGB is limited. I move this PC frequently between destinations and the case has proven to be durable.

Why did you go with z170 instead of z270. As I know z170 are for skylake processor and you have kaby lake?

I actually upgraded from a 6600k (I know, not necessary). The z170/7700k works with a BIOS update using a Skylake chip.
