Description
I preordered the 1800x from microcenter and the crosshair from amazon and newegg. The next day microcenter confirmed my 1800x order so I didnt worry about that anymore, but the motherboard i had no idea. come March 2nd newegg had it delayed for a week and amazon had nothing to say about it. So i called in sick to work drove to the Houston microcenter to make sure i got the crosshair which they had about 10 in stock. I got home quickly assembled the parts out of the case with a the wraith cooler from my fx 6350 and got a post. Great I thought so i started to build inside my case. i bought a be quiet dark rock tf for my cooler so put that on first. after the computer was i built i turned it on and saw it post for the last time. I kept getting an error 55 from the led on the top right. Which is a no memory installed error. I know it works i saw it all on the bios screen when it did post. I now began to troubleshoot the entire day. I had to tear the entire computer apart, The dark rock tf is a massive air cooler in the end no matter what i did i only saw that dang code 55. I tried different memory sticks, video cards, back to the wraith cooler nothing worked. next day i took it back to microcenter and they exchanged it for a new one. i purchased the 2 year warranty on it through them so im really glad i did, I got home put it together outside of the case and got an error 48 (I think) on the led. thats not even in the list of codes! after about 10 minutes of changing stuff around it posts. Why did it post now and not before? ¯(°_o)/¯ I installed windows with it just sitting outside the case and have had no problems since, sort of. I installed the first version of windows 10 since that was what i had on hand and just planned to update it the computer kept freezing after 10 or 20 min. once it finished installing the lastest version of windows its been solid. So just make sure you put the latest version on your usb
Part Reviews
Motherboard
So much trouble getting it to post. but its been solid since windows was installed looks amazing. wish it had wifi built in
Memory
This was what all the reviewers got so i thought it was the smart buy. running at 2133 right now. going to wait for some stability bios updates before i clock it any higher
Storage
I wasnt planning on buying this. i was going to reuse my 850 as the boot drive. i see little difference in boot times between this and my 850. its a good drive but if i was doing it again i would of saved my money
Storage
i wanted a 2.5 inch drive to stick on the tray behind the motherboard it does its job
Wireless Network Adapter
pulled from previous computer i dont use it much since im always plugged in but the one time i needed it worked, sad that the motherboard didnt have one on board
