A little story, About this time last year (2014), I was trawling through youtube looking for something to pass the time. I found a PC game and streamer, Dayz/Mr Black0ut81. Well...
...Anyway, back to topic. Up until then, i had always used console's. I got hooked on the quality/possibility of PC games. So I started out to build a budget gaming rig, with the option to upgrade. I bought parts each week, budget, then dismembered my old pb mini for the hitachi drive and gigabyte 750ti 2gb that i had stuffed into it. Budget, lol, That went out the window very quick.
So, now i think i can say my rig is done, for a while. I started off with the 750ti and 8gb's of system ram, then after about three months i got a Zotac gtx 960 4gb amp card, which is a very good card, and a total of 32gb of system ram, lol budget. I then managed to grab the 980ti from ebay, sealed, brand new for 250!! Soo the 960 is now in my friends machine.
The 980ti is a beast!! I am aware the 8320e, even at 4.5ghz, is holding the card back... i may get an 9590 or i may wait for zen.
Amazing CPU! I wanted to be able to have fun an O/C this bad boy. I was not let down. ON air i had it nice at 4.2ghz. After fitting the water cooler, she now runs at 4.5ghz, quietly (25c idle).
I did have a push/pull setup, only problem is the fans clash with the top of the motherboard in this case, so now just push, and it keeps the cpu nice an cool.
Loads of settings and..... stuff that i've no idea what happens should I touch it lol. but a nice mouse driven bios, made my noobness able to tune up my ram and have a straight 3.5ghz boot. I used the Asus AI suite app to overclock further.
Its Ram... got 4 sticks.. runs at 1866mhz.. um... ah, clears the fan/radiator for the cpu cooler.
Fast, Reliable, Cheap.
Stripped out of my old prebuilt desktop, I just needed a drive for the time being.
Just needed more storage really.
Amazing bargain buy, and an absolute Beast!!
Very nice case, loads of room, lots of room for cable managment, probably too big for a first pc, but.. room to upgrade. Nice that you can remove the middle drive trays for airflow.
Modular, nice finish and quiet.
