Description

This is my main "do it all" machine. It's quiet enough for watching media, cool enough for gaming and is powerful enough for some 1080p video editing that I do. I opted for a white case as it hides the dust a little better - my friend did comment that it looks a bit like a toaster though. The case is very neat, all five panels are easily removed with the top and sides being interchangeable.

The only issue during the build was the RX580 video card, it had to be inserted before the motherboard - I tried various angles getting it in after the motherboard with no success at all. The case uses a 200mm fan at the front which spins at a low 530RPM at idle increasing to 800RPM under load - using a "Silent" fan profile in the BIOS. Exhaust fans can be fitted if needed but at this moment in time aren't needed. The GPU fans are aligned with the honeycomb grill on the side of the case for better cooling.

As you can see in the photos I've gone with an SSD for OS and Mechanical for Mass Storage.

How good is the RX 580 compared to the GTX 1060 would you say?

Im tempted to do an upgrade on my current rig and even though i recently changed to a GTX 1070 in brilliant condition for being bought in February this year.

I still think going with a Ryzen 7 CPU and perhaps dual RX GPUs in crossfire might offer the same performance if not better for about the same price.

Plus i heard that AMDs drivers are more up to date. So thats a benefit for going team RED all the way.

At the very least i think ill be getting a R7 soon if i cant find a good 6700k or 7700k and watercooler for the same price.

How are you liking that rx 580? Currently I have a gtx 960 and am planning on getting either a gtx 1070 or an rx 580, which one would you say I should get? Also if I get the rx 580 I could get it in a month or two but if I were to get a gtx 1070 then I might have to wait until summer of next year.

Get the 1070 AFAP. But if you want to GAME NOW, go for the 580 8gb.

I'm getting the same gpu, and also a 450w psu similar to yours. I was concerned about the 500w recommended minimum for the gpu, but I know my projected build pulls barely over 300w max. How has yours held up?
