Description

I use this PC for gaming, Internet browsing, game recording, and the like. The CPU and GPU work very well, and the hard drive is good enough. However, the case had very little room for cable management. It is also difficult to make the wireless card work in windows 8.1, the latest driver being for 7. I made it work, however. Sorry for terrible pictures, camera is pretty bad. Bonus picture of my makeshift Razer Turret!

Part Reviews

Video Card

Very good card, okay shroud. The fans are loud even at 60%. However, temperatures are good, capping at 77 degrees Celsius in FurMark. I have overclocked to 1100 MHz and am continuing slowly.

Case

A good case if you don't need many cables. Not much cable management room at all, even though it is a budget case. Cables need to be run very mindfully, and I found myself changing the management every so often. The PCIe covers don't screw on and off, but there is a replacement included.

Operating System

An excellent OS for gaming. Switching from Windows 7 I was skeptical of course, but I don't regret it. I used a program to revive the start menu, and I simply ignore the Metro screen. I get genuinely uncomfortable thinking of it. Watch out for drivers, though. Some devices (such as certain wireless cards) don't have drivers for Win 8.1, which is a simple fix however. Other problems include the charms bar and options menus that slide in (network interface) or others that pop up, (volume controls) creating an inconsistent experience.

I think you have the wrong link to the fans in your build. I swear i've seen the logo on you fan before but im pretty sure its not Rosewill. Nice build!

I have the Rosewill fans in the front intakes. The one in the back is the one included with the Bitfenix case.

Not bad at all for a 1st timer. Though i suggest upgrading that cheapo mouse and keyboard.

Yeah, I'm gonna when I get more money. I'm thinking of getting a wireless keyboard and wired mouse, since I mostly use my keypad for gaming.

How did you get the wireless card to work with 8.1?!

I disabled driver signature checking then ran the driver installer in compatibility mode for windows 7. It works perfectly.
