Description

Ram is actually HyperX Beast 2400hz and Turbo is 4GB version

Build is featured on NZXT webiste aswell :D http://blog.nzxt.com/2015/12/white-shadow-s340/

Very thing is running at stock at the mo and the total build cost was £550 :D

Hoping to do another build like this in the future but hybrid cool the Asus turbo with an AIO and keeping the shroud. Also my step up the Phantek cooler to a 140mm version

Part Reviews

Memory

I got the Hyperx Beast 2400hz for cheaper, easily OC to 2666Hz with same timings

Video Card

Looks amazing! Run warm!

No back plate even thought the Strix will fit. beeing trying to ask Asus for one to paint white and install but falling. The way the fan housing it constructed their is a ramp the forces the air onto and over the heatsink, not underneath to prevent dust. This means none of the ram chips are cooled, and the heat sink sits just above them so i installed thermal pads to help out

Colour scheme is superb - hope it sets a trend as I'm totally fed up of seeing red and black.

I am so impressed with this build... as in the colour and tidyness...

I'm thinking of copying your build... I want a gaming /streaming machine this be any good?

Should be, i5 quad core should handle the streaming just fine. 960 is great for 1080p and I do run some indie games and RTS at 1440p :)

Ditto to TiGGa, love this build! You might consider getting a Hue+ if you want some colour changeable lighting.

Color scheme is great but you spent so much on SSD + CPU when u could've got a GTX 970 had you reduced a little... Still, one of the nicest builds I've seen +1

SSD was free, i5 was £173 when price was at an average of £190. The Turbo 960 is a 4GB version for £150. Originally it was a Gigabyte wind force triple fan 2Gb for £110 bit got screwes over

Total build cost was £550. Perfect for...Minecraft haha

Great build, looks great! Where did you end up putting the SSD? I don't see it in the mounting bays where it usually is...

  • 2 points

It went in one of the bays above the PSU. It arrived very late so wasn't in the snap shots I took :(

Ah thanks for the reply man

Wow! This is almost exactly like the one i'm except with a black s340, and a sylake cpu. I'm just wondering, how hot does your cpu run? And are those heatsink fans kinda loud?

And about the gpu cooler, ASUS seems like they don't know how to cool vram... They did the same on the asus strix 390 and 390x.

if only you could apply black paint to those red lines on your gpu... sorry, my ocd sense is tingling.

only thing that i would change is because of me being me the two little red lines on the 960 should be covered as they drive me crazy but this build is so nice looking :)

Thanks for the comments , price came first the looks, then colour haha. Just worked out. The gtx turbo was a very last add. Have been trying to ask Asus for a Strix backplate to spray white and carry on the red stripes but no luck :(

If money wasn't an issue, I'd have custom cables made up, white and black with a single red stripe
